I like the points he made on developing players through the school system as it was done back when we went to primary and secondary schools!
I remember my primary school competing against high school with older kids!

I played against Mark Harper in schools cricket(Queens College vs Tutorial) and it is obvious to me that Mark is largely responsible for Roger's growth and development as a cricketer.Roger played Wight Cup at 13 for QC and then at 14 played Northcote Cup for the school. At 15 he started playing Case Cup for DCC and made his first class debut at age 16, before going on to play Test cricket at age 20.
As he pointed out QC had 3 cricket pitches and 2 games were going on simultaneously for most weekends. We played Inter form, inter House and Inter School cricket.I remember during my time there were three Jackman brothers,2 of whom represented the school and then Guyana at Under 19 level before their younger brother Andy who went to North Georgetown represented the Guyana Senior Team and was unlucky not to play test cricket after scoring a brilliant century at Bourda at age 21 against the Australians in 1984. We were playing 2 day cricket at age 13.Now we are playing 20 over cricket instead.
