For the first time I watched an entire CPL match this season. The reason I watched the match is because of 2 young men who made their CPL debuts,Kevlon Anderson and Shemar Joseph. These two young men from Berbice are both humble, hard working pleasant chaps and they did everyone who knows them proud.
The match was terribly one-sided and was further confirmation of the class of Shai Hope and one can only wish that with this confidence he forces himself back into the test team and conquers all the demons that prevented him from performing in that format.
Gudakesh Motie also showed the folly of the WI selectors who seemed to feel that two left arm orthodox players can not play together in a T 20 International match.
The match also revealed that Rovman Powell still can not play wrist spin and that Odean Smith is not getting better as a bowler.

Anderson looks a good prospect, seems to have the right temperament, however he seems to favor the leg side! Could be because of the T20 format! Havent seen enough of him to make a proper determination!
On another note it seems that most of our WI bowlers are very ordinary in the CPL.
Watching Kev with interest. He already has a FC ton after five matches.
Bat well yesterday.

Was surprised at Shamar pace.. Couple months ago he wasn't that quick. Gonna be worries for the Berbice selectors when they selecting the squad for the upcoming 50 overs inter-county. Lots of pacers to choose from...
Shamar
Smith
Shepherd
Tyndall
Thorne
Pestano
Should loan a few to Demerara
In reply to anthonyp
No loan!!! Buss Dem up
In reply to Dukes
Both of those 2 kids utilized their opportunities well. Good luck and hoping for great things ahead
In reply toanthony p and googley
Watch yuh mout!!!!!!

Both Joseph and Tyndall were at Curtly's camp last year.
In reply to Dukes
In the next camp ask them to invite these three youngsters..
Raffel McKenzie
Thierry Davis
Bruce Vincent
McKenzie and Davis played in the recent U-13 series against T&T.. Both of them looked close/above 6ft already and got decent pace. Bruce is from Moruca and played in the regional U-17 tournament.
In reply to anthonyp
Bruce Vincent is 13 and near 6' tall and played in the Under 17 tournament????
OOPS,I read that wrong
Where are they from?
In reply to googley
Let us wait. This year's Lord Nelson Royals have a very bad accumulated team.
Consider all of Hetty's honours, then consider his achievements in this year's CPL.
Before complementing these young players, it would be prudent to see them play in future games.
In reply to Dukes
McKenzie is from Berbice (to me his action is similar to Thorne)
Davis from Demerara (left arm pacer)
Vincent from Moruca, Region 1
Vincent played in the Regional U-19 tournament last year alongside Thorne... He missed it this year due to CSEC preparation. He's not as tall as the two U-13 youths but he got decent pace.
Here is a link with McKenzie and Davis bowling to T&T U13

Thierry Davis is playing at Malteenoes from what I heard so I will check with Neil Barry who is an excellent nurturer of talent so Davis is already in good hands. I will check with the BCB President about Raffel McKenzie. Where does Bruce Vincent play his cricket?
In reply to Dukes
I really like Joseph. If he replaces Keemo, he just needs to tighten his line a tad.
In reply to Curtis
My team for Wednesday Qualifier 1 vs TKR is 1 change from last night. Shepherd in for Beaton
In reply to Dukes
Bruce Vincent played regional u17 recently...will look for videos later
In reply to anthonyp
Shamar is getting stronger. Man got a damn good work ethic
In reply to Dukes
good question...and there are a few others from his area as well...there's another quick that played u17 too
i wonder if they play on the essequibo coast...
In reply to Dukes
Agreed to Sheepy in for Beaton but if they are playing Odean Smith as an opener then that must be his role. Please do not put the ball in his hand to bowl.
In reply to bobby
Please let him bowl...he like demerara brown sugar sweet..
In reply to StumpCam
Actually, the first 6 or so of Anderson's shots were touches to 3rd and pushes thru the covers...all off side...
he is offside bias...we looking a different tele?
i also know this watching him during the the 4 days...he has good touch...of his first 20 deliveries last night he had 1 or 2 dots
Odean Smith is Uton Dowe grandson in case ya'll didn't know...
In reply to doosra
Youre correct! Later on into his innings I observed he was trying to play more aggressively towards leg!
Anyhow, I am not trying to diminish the young mans ability!
Maybe I was half asleep.
In reply to Dukes
Bruce represents Essequibo... Hardly any cricket playing in Essequibo so I don't think he plays a lot of cricket.
In reply to doosra
Yes Darwin Joseph is the other U-17 pacer... Holmes that opened the bowling for Guyana U13 is from the same area too I think.
In reply to anthonyp
Mih haffi teef him fuh de Queenstown club!!!!!!

In reply to Dukes
Ah think there is a Queenstown cricket club in Essequibo... hope it's not that one
You should do that though... DCC need pacers. Bruce also plays football and represented his Region at nationals last year in shot put.

Duke, I made it clear from the onset that I was following GAW.
Mainly as I saw something different in Shai during the series vesus Hindia.
GAW is a balanced team.
Sorry about the Paul injury,
but the replacements seems reliable.
I like Shamar and Anderson. Two good yutes.
Beaton's action still looks suspect,
but then again so does Narine...so..
I watched the entire game last night.
I watch all of the GAW games innings this year.
Shai is doing the cappo job it seems.
he is motivating players.
Something (good) different about Shai this last few months.
Shepherd has shown good maturity.
Paul is a class player (batting, bowling & fielding).
Odean needs some variation in his bowling...I have not given up on him
He needs a Hooper to coach him.
Hetty should bat at #4 as they have other finishers.
Dem better win is all.
GAW is my champs this year.
I am making it clear here that I will be supporting Guyana in all formats of Wondies cricket from now on.
Bim, my country of birth do not know how to release old boys
Wasting time not picking, Shamar Holder, Boucher etc
Holding on to players whose sell-by-date gone.
I can't wait to see Bim next selection.
I like what I am seeing from Guyana.
I hope they play these youths.
Can someone convince Shai hope to switch to Guyana like Reifer did before..
Please please please please.
Dukes, do you have any pull to get Shai hope to Guyana teams.
PS: I am not talking about CPL, I mean 4 days and 50 overs.
In reply to TanteMerle
You do know that the T20 format, is an independent series.
Thats the reason I am not a fan of any team.
In reply to TanteMerle
Are you supporting GAW?
Or is really that you supporting Shai Hope
..your homie?
If Shai Hope see tom play for another franchise
dat St Lucia Kings
would you still support GAW?
