Happy Birthday to Curtly.

Simply the best fast bowler I ever saw live and my favourite by some distance.

I sometimes try to imagine that I'm the batsman and where I would try to score.....and i can't find an area consistently. you're not sure if you have to go forward or play on the backfoot, then you have to figure out if its going to come in or go away...........dude was a genius and an absolute nightmare.

the only way ppl scored off him was stay still at the crease and wait....and when it started keeping low he would blow you out

man had economy rate of just over 2 in FCs / Tests and just about 3.5 in LOs / List A

tellin yuh.his strike rate in tests is 54.5 and we know how unlucky Ambi was. If he was 6'6 instead of 6'8, his strike rate would probably be 40

Recently i read a book about Warwickshire's year of the bear in 1994. Lara played Northampshire and was scoring a youknowwhatload of runs across the country. They come up against northants. Lara scores 178, but only scored 12 runs off 45 deliveries from Ambrose. And that version of lara wa the best lara of his career. the year prior, he had scored hundreds off attacks containing wasim and waqar(4 in one season and two 90s, 99* and 96)), alland donald at blofontein and craig mcdermott(essentially the best pacers of the era after Emperor Curtly).
