Cricket West Indies (CWI) acknowledges the receipt of a letter from the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) dated October 04, 2023, expressing concerns about the validity of the election for the post of Vice President held during the Annual General Meeting on March 25, 2023.

The Board is confident that the election process was fair and transparent, and was conducted with due regard for the rights, views and opinions of all shareholders of CWI Inc. Such was the case, that at the conclusion of the election process the elected Vice President received congratulations and commitment of full support from ALL shareholder members.

The Board of Cricket West Indies has thoroughly examined the matters raised by the Guyana Cricket Board and wishes to assure all stakeholders that the election for the post of Vice President was conducted in accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the organisation. CWI recognizes the importance of transparency and fairness in all its operations, including elections, and is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity.

Very interesting move by GCB. Stem Cell for dissolution of the current CWI set up and possibly exit the program? With 2 stadiums and oil dollars perhaps thinking to go it alone? There is potential there !!! Keep an eye on this new development.

Currently there is Providence

Coming soon are the following:

1. Palmyra
2. Linden
3. LBI going thru massive rebuild
4. Albion also going thru massive rebuild

All of these stadiums will be ICC approved.

So, whats the goal by building all of these stadiums? I say they want to host massive tournaments, tours etc....like the entire CPL (example). I don't think they are in a position to go at it alone.

McKenzie (Linden), Anna Regina and Albion outfields finish and they currently installing the lights... All of dem will be ICC approved.

LBI is the GCB project which started under Sanasie... The current GCB ain't doing anything there, currently at a standstill... The others are being built by the Government.

Has the government said whats the goal behind all of these ICC approved grounds?

There must be a roadmap as to what they are thinking here. Everyone labels the CPL event in Guyana a platform to launch more products . Sport tourism and Cricket Carnival looks like the vison. Exit CWI and focus on Curry Goat cricket ? Invitational tournaments, Corporate Teams, similar to IPL. There may even be IPL Caribbean Edition? Something is cooking. After next year's CPL they have to find a way to keep Cricket Carnival going
