When you consider the sheer volume

..of humans mired in ideologies on either side of this middle east divide ..how does this shite get solved?

Either way, a VERY large group of people has to make a pretty significant compromise...regardless of the history and who was originally on the more reasonable side.

Its very hard to see this being solved without 'divine' intervention. Increasingly distressing situation.

But I think about how human love, will and desire for peace broke down the Berlin wall...and I hold on to a sliver of hope.

Maybe this current situtation is the proverbial worse before it gets better?

Do you see that as a truly and genuinely viable solution???

The Berlin Wall fell in part because both sides wanted teh same thing. Solving the middle east divide would require compromise, and not just from the combatants, all the peripheral players not least the misfits' great merica have to agree as well. So, its not going to happen in our lifetimes, nor in our children's.

All I can say to you is to expect things to become worse before it gets even worse.

Correct is right, not even a two state solution will solve this! The ideological difference between both parties does not lend to peace - Allah vs. Yaweh!

Jerusalem, for example is a sore point at start!

What’s the goal of each side in this conflict and what will bring about peace?

In the meantime, people's lives are simply collateral damage to those in power and in pursuit of their agenda.

bad analogy and you pointed it out effectively. Hope in our children's and grandchildren's lifetime there is some solution

Technically not an analogy...just maybe a bit of hope that the level of human suffering already endured will force some changed behaviour. There has to be a tipping point??

That's sort of what I feel the current trajectory is pointing to. But...I have to hope that humane behaviour will find a way to prevail.
