Do you believe everything he said? Let's start with his opening statement. Hamas tortured and killed many of their own while both were in Israeli Custody. He saw that in his 27mths of detention.
Do you think part of his conversion/switch has to do with him being tortured?????

It will soon get bad for Israel if there is an all out Shia attack - Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, and Iran!

let's compare what we both assume to be reasons for the man's stance.

Me- Torture led to relenting and a deal to 'go weh from Gaza.
Man gladly takes it since it included protection from Hamas and a good life in Murca.
Taken in (community) by some good Midwestern 'Christians' converts and so finds Hamas even more detestible than before.

You- He saw Hamas killing its own (all movements kill spy/snitches or perceived ones remember Winnie's disgusting beating of the lil boy Stompy?)
He realized Israelis were more 'humane'
You still sure he doesn't have any reason to 'frame his own truth?' By the way Murca shot down Houthi Missiles. That's no different from Kids throwing stones at tanks and Israelis firing live rounds.
Did you see the Israeli tank blocking the road and a guy drove down the road and was blown to bits? Those filming seemed to have been going in the same direction but changed route after.

My take - The fight or flight response is an automatic physiological reaction to an event that is perceived as stressful or frightening.

The perception of threat activates the sympathetic nervous system and triggers an acute stress response that prepares the body to fight or flee.

Israel, the only non-Arab/Muslim nation in that part of the region will always feel threatened given a diametrically opposed ideology and the utterances of some leaders from the predominant Muslim group to knock them over.

I would argue that Israel will always feel insecure and therefore operate on the us or them axis!

The Oct 7 event is a wake up call for them, thus the repeat of the "never again" mantra.

It's a sad state of affairs, and unfortunately, I don't see an end to this but a fight to the death!
