One can actually enjoy the artistry of both batter and bowler, as compared to lickit 20 over.
Plenty centuries and great bowling spells in this WC. Good essence of cricket, with a decision at end of day.
Real Deal...ODI's demise is premature.

ODI's may be best format after all
Don't tell me alyuh not enjoying over a month of great cricket. Don't cut your nose to spoil your face.

I have not been able to enjoy most of the game, but I must say I enjoy the few I’ve followed. What a respite from the profusion of “Lickit”.
It's the t20 philosophy in the main that has made it this attractive.

Too long and drawn out . Schedule is ridiculous and that is my main issue with this tournament. Why could they not schedule two games daily? Also too many one sided matches. You talk about the T20 cricket but it is that format that has led to the increase in scoring rates in ODIS.

The cementing of Afghanistan as a serious cricket competing Nation is one of the better stories this World Cup. With New Zealand's loss Afghanistan maybe in with a chance of a Semi final Berth. A lot of records broken this tournament. cannot keep up.

Like you're in a hurry to finish the tournament? Enjoy the journey my brother.
In present day cricket I agree that the 50-overs format has a good chance to survive over Test cricket, cricketers still have to be well-rounded players to be successful at 50 overs cricket and the cricket most times is entertaining.

ODI is a farce with only 4 fielders on the boundary for most of the match resulting in more 100s!
I prefer to see a 250 per inning match instead of 400+ score. Too many edges going for 4s.

The penalties and stipulations/restrictions introduced in the rules (designed for entertainment) against bowlers and fielding teams have outlived their usefulness. With the type of creativity and innovation we are seeing these days, batters don't need any more help from the organizers.
Time for review.

That’s really good

Agreed. ODI is the 400m of cricket. You need speed, stamina and strategy to be really good at it.

Enjoying the tournament despite the rain interference. I think including the CCC and Academy teams was a big factor in bringing some appeal to the event
Only other downside was the horrendous umpiring

Too many one sided matches? Mate this World Cup has seen more upsets than any previous World Cup.
Afghanistan, Netherlands. They have all been able to beat teams much higher than them in rankings
Yes 2 games a day would be better but then if you can play IPL for 2 months, you can play some real cricket for 2 months too

Lol. Of course I was talking about the regional tournament not the WC. My misread. Hard to get into the WC without West Indies presence

Too many one-sided matches, very few exciting finishes.
ODI's is the perfect compromise between fast food T20's and 5-day events. I understand folks live in a world that's more automated than ever imagined, and yet busier than ever. It's the faux wisdom of progress, apparently.
Anyhow, if you came to see your favourite batter build an innings, you can. Or, to enjoy a 10 over bowling spell. It has it. Plus you lime for a day.

Two games daily means less viewer per games. TV rights is where the money at in Cricket.
Well, what a feather in the cap of ODI cricket today. Glenn Maxwell. Take a bow.
