He's in form.
He's home.
He's on a great batting team (this generation great)
He's bowling with big targets set (ergo scoreboard pressure).
Now reassess your statement, including these variables.

Let me help you, who was better Lara or Tendy
Let's evaluate: -

Lara played with a bunch ah failures.
While Tendy played with stars.

Lara was basically an opener with bad opening partnerships ahead of him
Tendy had good starts when he came in. Most ah de time.

Lara was crucified every step of the way by Wondies fans
While Tendy was worshiped by his fans and others

Lara was paid small salaries
While Tendy was paid/compensated handsomely by BCCI

It is very difficult to compare eras, situations etc when making comparison
Any sensible person would say to consider all variables.

Is Shami the best at present.
I cannot say without considering his support staff,
his BCCI monies situation,
and a whole other bunch of nuances.
