Bad Captaincy, Dropped Catches cost Saffies

DeCock stayed down too long for one edge and came up too early for another...no pun intended pure cricket mi ah talk

I want to believe those white guys sabotage the black captain.

What was the bad captaincy? Batting first after winning the toss?

No, after seeing how the pitch spun, how Head/Warner was caning pace and that Rabada has been off the boil (out of form) he should've either opened with or bring in early the part-time Offie Markham who is quite useful. Defending low score requires some unorthodoxy...ie doan worry about no one out in the deep for the spinner then. He could get the lefties caught at slip or behind/save 20runs perhaps. Gamble worth taking. If it worked then the rest would've been even more tentative to Shamsi/Maharaj...dots galore

That captain did not need anyone to sabotage him...opening batsman with highest score of 35, average 18 all world cup?
Kept out a better player in Hendricks.

The dropped catches were a much bigger factor than the captaincy. If South Africa had taken 3 of the 5 dropped catches, who knows ...? But I think it was pure insanity for SA to bat first in those conditions. The conditions (overcast with low clouds and a seaming wicket) were screaming win the toss and bowl first. The decision to bat first was likely a team decision though.

The catches yes but he should've brought slow bowlers in earlier. Men who are concentrating on Bavuma's runs will never ask themselves how much his opening partner made TODAY nor address that Bavuma's ODI stats are superior to Hendrick's 9runs higher sr 16runs higher avg. When things go wrong it is easy to scapegoat minorities.
Yesterday if Shami hadn't taken those 4 wkts came back and got 3 more but instead only dropped the catch and NZ won guess what would've happened to that minority person...oh wait we don't have to guess it happened before.

I believe he should have gone with spin especially the offie to the two lefties earlier..let the power play got away from him. That was the only
thing I saw with the captaincy..the left arm quick did not have his radar earlier and should have been removed
quickly,
The drop catches ,although difficult was what did them in and Rabada was not available in the early goings.
Saffies are snake bit.
