CHAIRMAN of the West Indies men’s selection panel Desmond Haynes said despite Darren Bravo not playing a Test match in over two years he is still in consideration to earn a recall, calling the left-hander a “class act.”

Bravo, 34, last played a Test match for West Indies in December 2020. Bravo was excluded from the West Indies squad for a two-match Test series starting next week.

Batsmen such as Nkrumah Bonner, Raymon Reifer and Kyle Mayers are among those who have been batting in the West Indies middle order over the last two years leaving Bravo on the sidelines.

Wonder what changed….other than the improvement in Darren’s performances

tests?

He should be in consideration for the tests in Australia then? But in that case should he not be in SA with the A team getting ready?

Well I don’t think he can select himself for the A side

So wait, am I missing something?
Being on the radar mean automatic selection.

Walsh was on the radar.
Pooran was on the radar.
Holder was on the radar.
K. and r. Powell were on the radar.
Charles and Lewis were on the radar.
Odean Smith was on the radar.

Bravo was on the radar,
he was measured, weighed and found wanting.
Simple.

Well you can only be selected based on your performances( unless you’re bajan, then you can be talentless, lazy and not performing and still play as the cases of reifer and chase have shown) and bravo scored over 400 runs in the regional 50 over tournament. I dont know what else he’s supposed to or can do

This is my last response to anti-Bajan crap.
If you do not counter arguments with sensible posts, I will not respond.
Just saying.

True. But what I am saying is that you are arguing the ODI case using statements about Tests. I wonder if we ought to draw a distinction there.
If you tangle things up you weaken your case

Just ask Uncle Dessie why Michael is not in the ODI team.
The same should be asked of Hety - why is he on the ODI team.

We need clarity not more confusion.

You doh counter is because it is a fact that
1. Bajan cricket is absolute rubbish( nobody wants any of their players outside for more than a season; Shai and kraigg’s recent stints in county cricket are proof; and of course RTN’s player to mascot devolution in the IPL)
2. Bajan cricket fans don’t see a problem with their rubbish cricketers which is why they’re always cackling to get them on to the WI side

Dude you’re the same one arguing that Ruston chase earned his spot. Just by that alone you should be ignored

I agree. In fact I think Darren is more a test batsman than an ODI batsman. But l dont even think the WI think tank plans so far ahead. They dropped denesh in 2015 after a good tour of Australia under the same excuse of “investing”( bajans seem to love that word) and what happened. Dowrich was found to be incompetent anywhere where the balled moved an inch while batting or wicketkeeping.

Your responses about Barbadian players show your hatred for players from the Island, it is sickening

On the radar eh!

what does that mean. It could mean he is just appearing as a blip which means there are 300 other who are closer to the center of the radar.

i hate mediocrity, how many times have i praised maco, dessie, sylvester clarke, big bird etc. that whole island need to learn to take some constructive criticism. but facts are facts. barbados has not produced a very good cricketer for the past 40+ years. and the dudes like fidel edwards and kirk edwards, who had drive and talent, were fought down because they refused to be scouts
