I thought Kjorn was younger but no they’re both born in 1989. If I’m not mistaken, Ottley made the squad. So much for investing in youth.

Ottley is pick ..... To face save T& T board.....I doubt Ottley is for future....if he gets opportunity and Excel....then only.... opener slot is vacant...
Bravo can surely be better utilise in red ball cricket in forthcoming world championship starting June 2023....

Save face on the one hand, victimization on the other… memories of Vere Bird…

With Michael's form, he should be in the ODI and test squads.
It is a joke, we need experienced performing cricketers to assist youngsters, there is no reason, to not select Darren Bravo.

I have come to realize that most Caribbean institutions devolve in to boys clubs sooner or later. WI is just another and possibly the worst example

It was absolutely mind boggling they chose to leave out Bravo. The excuse about "the next WC" and he will be too old is bull crap. While they are rebuilding, for these next two years Bravo could have been in the team as the experience guy working along the youngsters. Its not like we have batters in the team who can step up right away.
Ottley's inclusion is based on merit and his name should not be thrown in to the argument about Bravo's disgraceful exclusion.
I also understand there is an ex wicket-keeper got thrown in the ODI squad.
Haynes is a liar

How come these loud mout titties only now discover this?
When other protested here over the years.....Titties accuded them of COWBAWLING !!!!
Now alyuh learn to cowbawl now.
When Hety was ignored for 2 years....when all kind of 'fitness' issues were fabricated....not a sound from alyuh
When ICM plucked Cariah for world cup not a sound from titties
When de same Bravo was picked for T20 world cup....having dome nothing to be selected...not a sound from alyuh
When Permaul dominated regional cricket year after year and was ignored...not a sound from titties
In reply to Narper
homie. DWAYNE JOHN BRAVO IS A TWO TIME WORLD CUP WINNER, IPL RECORD WICKET TAKER(until this year), WINNER OF THE MOST TITLES IN T20 HISTORY. if that cv isn't worthy of being picked for a world cup team, then i don't know what is. And get that boulder off you shoulder.
In reply to Narper
Walsh was on the decline- they wanted leg spin… but didn’t Cariah prove himself? Even now you besmirch him…

I have had no problems whtsoever with DJ Bravo....he has been one of my fav players
But I am talking about picking DM Bravo for the T20 world cup before the last one in OZ...in fact he warmed the bench for the whole world cup
In reply to Jumpstart
Kjorn is an openner, he get a pick because Greaves is injured. I wouldm’t have pick Ottley anyway I would have gone with Kadeem Alleyne and Jordan Johnson for Dowrich.
However Bravo should be in the squad base on performances, we need to blend youth with experience.
In reply to Narper
darren bravo was a reserve player....in the same manner that bravo sr and pollard were reserves for the 2019 world cup. cottrell was a reserve as well
In reply to Jumpstart
And went on tour with the squad
Did he deserve to be a reserve player at that time....the answer is NO
But I would have had no problem if Bravo was selected based on his recent regional performance
It's the hypocrisy of some alyuh....NO COW BALLING when the victim is not your home boy
In reply to Narper
Did he deserve to be a reserve player at that time....the answer is NO
So now you compensate by committing a reverse crime

Great injustice meted out to the youth, because of politics - Bravo should be in the squad!
In reply to Narper
Did he deserve to be a reserve player at that time....the answer is NO
that was the arrangement the teamshad with the WC. Bravo and pollard didn't go because there wasn't covid around in the 2019 World cup(yes the 2021 wt20 took place in the second year of covid). Squad numbers were increased to 30 players.
https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/limit-on-squads-at-icc-events-increased-to-30-in-response-to-covid-19-1257533
if there wasn't covid, darren and cottrell wouldn't be in dubai

Jordan johnson and kadeem alleyne? over a man that scored a century and 90 odd in the super 50 .lol dont make me laugh wunna now going overboard with stupidity

Oh hetmyer only issue was fitness for two years ?
Bravo himself in the interview on Sportsmax said that there were times that he did not deserve to be picked and was. Let us not criticize the man, this talk is about the selectors. The man has done his best to be selected and it was actually better than anyone else. We are talking about 2023 based on performance, not 2019.
Hetmeyer is the new Mr pillow…

I have been advocating inclusion of Bravo in West Indies team But Test match....... He can really make difference in the middle order, where almost all players have failed....No.5 is the slot, where he can make it own for next 3 years.....impacting and nurturing Athanaze, McCaskie, McKenzie, et al......His future lies in red ball....can surely work to increase his average to mid 40's....by the time he hang up international boot... Looking forward for his inclusion in Australia tour test squad....

I agree with you. But I doubt WI cricket administrators have that kind of vision. We purged successive sides of senior players. For the last ten years we had a core of players who were there solely because they were from boards friendly to the president. And out standing in the game, weak as it was coming into the 2010s, plummeted
Captain and coach job….
