I have seen many references to Kalli as the left handed Kanhai. Personally, I dont see the similarity as Rohan was a more attacking batsman than Kalli. Take a look at this and please share your thoughts.

Left handed Kanhai?
In reply to googley
More adventurous, innovative yes, more attacking not so sure
In reply to googley
Well, it is difficult to compare from this video given Kanhai was playing in Test matches while Kalli was playing in the WC.

Back then there was little difference beween the two. We don't know how many dots were in Babu's innings before and after those shots.
What we can judge is batting skills when facing balls that ought to be hit.
Alvin Kallicharran.
Better batsman. Period.

Alvin playing County cricket
1973 vs England
Kalli was one of my favorite batsmen. Fearless and talented. Is he a better batsman than Babu. Yes…left-handed

I remember listening to the radio broadcast of that ‘73 England Tour where Kalli was constantly smashing them to the boundary!

Are you saying he was better than Kanhai, Openning soon come for you.

Yes
Kalli by a short distance. His timing was top notch and his stroke play on both sides of the wicket was easy on the eyes ...
In reply to StumpCam
My brother I think you are mistaking the series. In the 73 series Kalli had two fifties.
In reply to CricSham
Does that mean he didn’t smash them to the boundary or he only scored singles?? Rhetorical!

Thanks for clarifying it for any of dem bhais born 70's and after

I remember a teammate in Guyana always boasted of regularly smashing the bowlers blasting a hard hitting 10.
I hesitate to mention that Kanhai scored one of the most brilliant hundreds at Lords in that 73 series batting at number three. Richie Bennett on commentary. You can check it u-tube if you wish. When Kanhai played the hook shot he said that’s a Compton Cowdrey stroke. in other words, batsmanship of the highest class.
Chanderpaul better than both

was a sweep off a spinner not a hook

Stand corrected
In reply to Brerzerk
And the commentator was better known as Richie Benaud, not Richie Bennett.

Don’t worry Ray. Either he’s wet at the ears or just another child left behind.

what's the fastest did any of the 'K's ' make a test century against a quality opponent?
In reply to Brerzerk
I've seen old videos of Bradman and McCabe playing that shot too.
It was part of the repertoire of the leading batsmen in those times. The benefits of that shot vs the traditional horizontal sweep is that there was less of a chance of a top edge and it would go finer.

how so? You can change his name to Khanderpaul while you are it.
