There’s been plenty of commentary on this in India too.
Others who have had a public monument or a stadium or any public building named after themselves, in their lifetimes and while in power: Mussolini, Gaddafi, Hitler, Erdogan.
That’s all that needs to be said to understand the the naming of the stadium and understanding Modi.
