A stat worthy of being highlighted.
Well done Shai!

Tied with Kohli and Viv for third fastest.
On a related issue: It is just remarkable that Viv’s records can still hold up against present day batsmen although played in an era when the ODI rules and conditions were not as favourable.

Viv's strike rate was 90 when the standard was 60-70
even today 90 is not all that common, not among the guys who do it for long periods...Shai is at 78 at the moment, Kohli is 93.5,
Shai stats since he took over the ODI captaincy...
Matches - 15
Runs - 741
Batting avg. - 74.10
Strike rate - 100.13
100s - 3
50s - 3

Viv played in 60 overs games, don't know if we should bump his rate by 1.2 times?

Dont recall Bim ever doing that. Do you? If you put that statement to yardies and dotties you may get the reply you seek

When yall paying back tens of millions Guyana benefited from in Caricom Multilateral Clearing Facility? Wunna left Bim and T&T holding the bag. With oil boom $$ wunna should be good corporate citizens and pay back what you borrowed/stole

Bro in the other Shai thread earlier I tried to guide men regarding the use of data info and common sense to create stats that make sense foolhardiness and willful ignorance won't allow some so to do. Think of the differences in game rules, gear etc. and Viv's 90 would be valued 130 today.
I usually ignore these idiotic threads!
People don’t realize how wide open the field is today compared to Viv’s era!
I will give you an example of Viv’s prowess on one of the largest grounds in the Caribbean. It was 1983 in that famous lost to India at Albion.
I was in the stand at fine leg in relation to the striker who happened to be the Master Blaster. Don’t remember who was bowling but there was a man at deep mid wicket and one at fine leg! Obviously India was trying to attack him on the offside with only 2 men on the leg side. Well the Master Blaster stroke his first boundary through square leg with consummate ease. Another fielder was placed at square leg and Viv repeated the shot bisecting the fielders for another boundary! You guessed it another fielder was placed at long leg and Viv again bisected the field on the leg side for his third consecutive boundary!
Allyuh need to stop the chupidness!
