Mindia cant play hostile stuff
In reply to allan
Well the pitch is very awkward and if it remains that way the Saffies will be hard pressed to reach 250,and btw India is a very capable team against pace in recent years, years ago you only had to say "pace"and India would collapse.
In reply to allan
So who can play hostile stuff?
In reply to Narper
Aussies, Poms
Over the past 18 months
In reply to allan
India is ranked #1 in tests and have the best fast bowling attack
In reply to Narper
And so doesn’t mean they play it the best
In reply to allan
That may be true. However, your concern is misplaced. Can West Indies play pace or spin or anything in between?
In reply to Titleist
West Indies isnt the subject of my thread
I said Mindia ?
In reply to granite
South Africa have batted quite well so far. A lead of 150 and India could be effectively out of it
In reply to allan
Then how do you explain them beating the team currently with the best fast bowlers in the world, Australia, in their own backyard in 2018-19 and 20-21. As the saying goes, "one swallow does not a Summer make". Never judge a team based on one inning batting first on a fresh pitch!
In reply to Medusa
Haha that was 2018/19
I also said the last 12-18 months
The india team is a t20 team mostly
haha
RSA 55
IND 118/4 (25.3) CRR: 4.63
Day 1: 3rd Session - India lead by 63 runs

Kohli can play hostile stuff and for me is still the best batsman in the world. take him away and that team crumbles. and bumrah and co are not as good as rabada, janse and co, and they're certainly levels below cummins, starc and hazelwood
In reply to Jumpstart
In the last few years Kohli struggled for runs but India is ranked #1.
Rishaub Pant had taken up the mantle when Kohli was struggling
Doesnt the lethality of a bowling attack depend largely where the game is being played?
They lost 6 wickets in 11 balls to hostile fast bowling. They really can’t play pace, the bowlers just about might have done enough to save them but their batting was atrocious
In reply to brians_da_best
Saffies at the moment have the best pace attack in the world and I mean pace,if your team gets bowled out for cheap does that mean they can't play pace,I don't think so.Today it will happen and tomorrow it won't but making judgements because of one or even 2 matches isn't fair. The Saffies have to bat again and may be in trouble, could they lose in 2 days or put up a score of 250 and bowl India out for cheap and win, your go.
In reply to Narper
they play most of their games at home. yes they beat a weakened australia in 2019/20 and full strength Aus in 20/21. but australia has been less impregnable than they were in the preceding 20 years. for example, between 1988 and 2008, only two teams beat Australia at home. WI twice and SA, once. Since that time, they've lost four series at home. twice to SA and twice to india, four times in 15 years. When india travel to SA, nz and england, they always come in as favorites. abnd they always lose....many times badly.
In reply to allan
And so doesn’t mean they play it the best
I never said they can play iy the best....I asked the question....who can play the hostile stuff?
Very few batsmen in world cricket today can handle the hostile stuff on a helpful pitch
In reply to Narper
Let’s see
They play so many test matches at home, also against weaken teams
Struggle in hostile conditions and bowling much more that other top teams ( Australia and the Poms)
In reply to allan
not the poms. the poms usually struggle everywhere. has not beaten NZ in nz in ages, has not even beaten second string WI teams at home in the last 13 years. the sri lanka and pakistan sides they've beaten in the last 5-6 years away(sl twice and pak once last year) have been the weakest squads representing those countries in years, in sri lanka's case, decades. and india did beat australia twice at home.
