St. John’s, Antigua – The Cricket West Indies (CWI) Senior Selection Panel has named both 15-man squads to play against Australia in three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 Internationals (T20Is) from 2 to 13 February 2024.
The ODI squad features two debutants, Grenadian top order batsman Teddy Bishop and Guyanese wicketkeeper batsman, Tevin Imlach.
Bishop has impressed with the bat on assignments for the West Indies Academy during the recent CG United Super 50 Cup and Academy series against Emerging Ireland. Imlach, who is currently in Australia with the test team, averages 30.1, having played 26 List A matches.

I will not criticize Lead Selector, the Most Honorable Desmond Haynes because I realize when I criticize his choice of players Caribbean Cricket automatically deletes my post. So today what I will say is why did they leave out maybe our best batsman Hetty even if he failed against England? Is this a sign that he will be cut off like Darren Bravo, seeing he was dropped for the last two games against England? Good players like Hetty has many ways of beating their opponents; sometimes with the bat, good fielding , just their presence sometimes or even helping with on field strategy. To me it’s a big mistake to leave him out and go with Charles
My first post was in reference to the T20 team so let’s look at the ODI team.
The next ODI is in 2027 and we are now sitting at # 10 in ODi rankings. In my opinion picking our best team from now on would give us a better chance of improving our ranking and would not have to play qualifiers. So why did they pick such a weak and inexperienced team ? That’s not the team that helped us beat India and England here last year
