Yardie Steven Stanley co creator
I was watching an interview with Steven and he mentioned that his brother Peter passed in 2020. Peter was my bonafide brethren. RIP to Peter…I remember him looking at a sistren of mine and giving her the nickname Whitney Houston

Great song. Remixed by 100s of artist.
Yardie Steven Stanley had his finger-prints all over it, as co-writer and audio engineer.
From the lyrics:
Quite like Smokey, Smokey Robinson
Wailin' and skankin' to Bob Marley
Reggae's expanding with Sly and Robbie
Black Uhuru got on the map after Stanley mixed the amazing 'Anthem' album. He (Stanley) is one talented man. Do you recall Harry J (Harry Johnson, former insurance agent, too many music accomplishments to mention)... He and Stanley continued to collaborate well into the 2000s. Harry J is another music legend from JA. One of many.
Was Peter also a musician? RIP
Thanks for the memory lane song above!

Harry J - vastly underrated.
For me (and I know this is controversial) "Anthem" is an album that should have not been given the Grammy, that honor should have gone to Steel Pulse's "Earth Crisis" but I get it, first Reggae Grammy had to go to a local. "Anthem", fine album still with lots of stalwarts behind it.

Not as far as I can remember. When I met him he worked in the agro industry in Westmoreland back in the 1980s

I fondly recall Harry J All-stars and Liquidator.

I know there was a lawsuit against Staple Singers and/or Muscle Shoals, any idea of the outcome? I hope Harry J reeled in some dough.

The Staple Singers lost that suit.

And that's as it should be. Hope the compensation was adequate.
