We know CWI will not pay our test cricketers what they deserve. What if the regional governments step in an subsidize their salaries, so that Guyana government pays $500K each to Shamar Joseph, Kevin Sinclair, Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Gudakesh Motie.
Or, what if we raise the money ourselves? Maybe 10,000 members on this board times $100 = $1,000,000. The funds will be distributed equally to players who play for WI.

Financial Compensation for WI Test Cricketers

Most of the Governments do not have the money in their budget or simply Cricket and Sport is not a priority so can that idea. Maybe Guyana can get Exxon to chip in but for the others very unlikely. 10k members on this board? I don't mind chipping in but how the hell you arrived at 10k? Be mindful they are a lot of duplicate posters.

Exxon sponsors the GAW...not sure what the deal is but i suspect the guys get something
Tell CWI to contact me, I have a Longterm solution to finance contracts for 4-6 main players at about $350,000/year each.

Regional governments can’t even pay educators a decent salary or fix the blasted roads. Why should they subsidize salaries for cricketers?
Dat is madness.

Yes they do but I read somewhere that the GAW players are not as well paid as the franchises that have IPL owners like TKR , Royals and Kings. I am not sure if that would change with the championship win but if it doesn't GAW may lose key players who got them their first championship.

I like what you said. I too have a plan to multiply CWI revenues by 10, but I don't think it is wise to share it here.

Aren't fees standard ?

Correct is right. It is not the most important thing. What they need to do is provide resources for its grassroots development..schools etc

An easier and more effective outcome would be to get sponsors to endorse players. Local companies across the region can easily sponsor a player or two. And link their payouts on the basis on West Indies appearances.
The private sector that's making more than reasonable profit off the populations, finding ways to not pay the taxes they ought to aren't even prepared to be sponsors like they used to but you expect govt. to take poor people's money to prop up salaries of a small minority that are some of the biggest earners in the region? Doan mek one test win buss yuh glad bag too much.

Tbh, the same thing is currently happening in the UK.
The better the club cricket, the more chance of getting investment which can then be funnelled through the system.
The contracts system is something that needs reviewed as well.
