Interesting Interview with Franklyn Rose

FanAttick 2024-01-29 15:02:49

Very interesting indeed

He mentioned taking away Lara’s womanbig grin

Which selector told West Indies players to bring back a girl from a club for him?

He mentioned taking away Lara’s woman

Was that a precursor to the mile-high knife incident (refereed by Star)?

I have heard some things from that interview before, one of the reason I disliked the selection of Fidel Edwards, I always believed in was a friend's pick, nothing more, nothing less.
I will go to my grave, believing it had nothing to do with Fidel bowling in the nets, Lara is not god.
Has he recommended any other player after seeing him bat or bowl?
Viv told Philo he wanted him after he scored a ton against his team at ARG.

which rock you're living under dude. Lara took Adrian Bharath under his wing, took him to Lords and supervised his coaching sessions. If I'm not mistaken, fidel took a five for in the first innings of that test vs SL with an all time great lineup:dilshan, jayasurya, hashan tilekaratne(the dude who made the majority of the runs against us in 2001), sangakara, jayawardene. Fidel was an inspired selection and was much more fruitful than the other bajan selected that season, tino best

Was lara instrumental in getting Ganga selected for the SA tour?

Brerzerk 2024-01-29 17:09:00

In reply to FanAttick

That's not why he wasn't selected again, his non-selection had to do with 'unpaid bills at front-desk' which I think Rousseau or another official had to pay.
Can't tell here why 'his money went missing' even though this is a Rum Shop. 'Eff men eva know some tings' sigh.
Anyway his exile was wrong. Take a man in front of the disciplinary committee and meet out a sanction such as a certain length suspension. This hush-hush
and exiling is wrong.

camos 2024-01-29 17:14:44

No due process! They are not paid before the tour, dock the money owed from his pay!

are you saying every tt pick under lar was friends and family. ganga had a good 87/98 fc season, scored a hundred against barbados in and led us to a one wicket victory. ironically, he was replaced by suruj ragoonath, who had only scored one hundred in ten years of fc cricket, for the visit of australia that followed the SA tour, lending credence to lara's words that he was given a team and told to captain it(typical colonial dot behavior)

I called it a friendly pick from day one, especially hearing of Lara's closeness to Collins, Collymore and Brady.
How many balls did Fidel bowl to Lara?
Did Lara witness him bowled on the fifth day after tea?
Lara is not a god.

locker room talk you have no way of substantiating. which is extremely disrespectful to a man who probably was virtually the only piece of light during the darkest days of WI cricket

I have labelled Fidel Edwards a net-bowler from day one, a friend pick.
Everyone that was on this MB, knows how I felt about the selection, so let's move on.

Drop it on them …

Based on the fact that Mr Rose has himself placed this information in a public domain, police can now confirm that Mr Rose was the subject of a Police investigation earlier this year, in relation to sexual assault," he said.

"No charges were filed however officers from the police last week assisted with Mr Rose's deportation back to Jamaica."

Mr Corbidge said the complaint with dealt with "thoroughly", however he could not give any further details about the investigation.

A source close to the alleged victim said she was told about Rose's visa issue and decided to drop the complaint to enable authorities to deport him faster. Police were prepared to pursue her complaint but left the decision with her.

Show them how virile Jamaican men are

Rose, who appeared in 19 Test matches for the West Indies, pleaded guilty to an assault charge on Thursday and was released on a $50,000 bail following the altercation. He is to return to court for sentencing on November 14.

According to media reports out of Jamaica, Rose and the Canadian woman had an argument in the popular Margaritaville club in Ocho Rios about 2:30 a.m Thursday. The altercation continued in the car park outside the club and culminated in the woman suffering a backhanded slap across the face.

A report was made to the police, who arrested and charged Rose with assault occasioning bodily harm. He later appeared before a resident magistrate, pleaded guilty and was granted bail. He could potentially face jail time but most legal observers expect him to be fined.

WEST Indies pace bowler Franklyn Rose has been fined five percent of his fee for touring South Africa and told he will not play for the side again until he settles a hotel bill. Rose appeared before the disciplinary committee of the West Indies Cricket Board on May 22 in Antigua to answer three charges. One was dismissed and two upheld by the committee, the board said on Thursday. Rose must settle a hotel bill in South Africa that he had not paid and will not be considered for selection on any future West Indies team until it is settled. Rose was also fined five percent of his tour fee after receiving an unsatisfactory report from the tour manager after the disastrous tour that started with a player boycott over pay and conditions, and included a 5-0 test whitewash. Rose is not in the West Indies’ World Cup squad.

Lara women take the money?

Fidel gave Lara a torrid time in a net session and Lara declared him to be special. In the recent commentary in Australia Lara said that "Fidel destroyed him".
So I would not call it a friend pic. It was a case of Lara being impressed and going with his gut instinct.

thank you sir. fidel was special and he terrorized a truly great SL lineup at sabina. and if it was a friend pic, then every bajan who played under lara was a friend pic, because he was close with all of them. every guyanese too. sarwan and tiger were and still are very close friends of lara, and many trini cricketers in general

Why you can't say de Garden implement ran off with all his money? That was common and documented knowledge and discussed right here back in the day.
