The National Senior selection panel has included Jonathan Drakes (as the replacement for Raymon Reifer) in the Barbados Pride squad for series 1 to 3 matches of the 2024 CWI Regional First-Class competition.

Raymon Reifer had requested and was granted an NOC to participate in the Bangladesh Premier League.

The Kraigg Brathwaite-led Barbados Pride squad will oppose the Combined Campuses and Colleges in the opening series of matches to be played at Chedwin Park in Jamaica from February 7-10, 2024.

What's the difference in domestic contracts compared to franchise contracts, just monetary value?

I wonder if Ratmond Riefer will bat at number 3 as a top line batter in the Bangladesh league since both he and Hon Sir Desmond Haynes declared him as a top order batsman

why was not Drakes selected in the first place? He is still a player with an international future ahead of him

The BCA has been offering local contracts to several local players not have regional or international contracts.
Sir Everton reminded me when I asked him why he gave light so quickly to players, he said the players we see on Saturdays have families and jobs, they are all amateurs.
These local contracts are good for players, instead of having 9-5 jobs, they can not work on the game at the local academy.

This Jonathan Drakes that was added to the B'dos Squad, the other player is Dominic Drakes, the son of Vassie Drakes who may be playing in one of the T20 league.
