Lol yeah. But they need to plan this thing better. Yuh can’t be allowing ppl to have 6 fetes in a small area…..especially when that area is one way in one way out

Hyatt fete is a premium one. Fete with saints is medium priced(1200TT) and well Brian Lara party on Carnival Sunday is exclusive. Now it could mean that they’re pricing out ppl they doh want to party with, but I honestly think it’s more about safety. Yuh really doh want hoods in yuh party. Ironically, the last carnival before the the pandemic hit, which was in the beginning of 2020, the leaders of two gangs were in Hyatt Lime with their crews( both died of natural causes). It was all over the sitess like EBUZZTT and co. So even if yuh try to price out yuh party, you may still not be able to price out undesirables from yuh party. Remember those guys are people of means.

Teodoro Obiang, dictator for life (since the late70s) in Equatorial Guinea has a son, actually his heir apparent who is in carnival all the time. It took a while for out dumb media to figure out who he was, but I knew him from a book I bought atBarnes and Nobles on a vacation to the states a few years ago.

I enjoyed Fatima fete a few years ago, it set the standard I thought for all the events after. Of Course, Panorama is special in its own class.

To be honest, I like a few panorama compositions. But I more like a steel orchestra in jazz. And it’s a genre to few pannen want to seriously explore. I guess it’s a mony thing. It have money in pamorama. It doh really have any money in jazz. Skiffle bunch in 1999 had a piece that I just discovered called Coffee Street. You should check it out. Mungal Parasar and Len Boogsoe sharpe had some experiments in the 80s and had a few concerts but I dont think they recorded it. Money was an issue I guess

Agree. The pan judging model is a bit limiting. All that talent confined to a structure. Lovely, but too restrictive to the format, why not let it be totally open, play whatever, from any year.

Ever listen to Liam Teague?
