Renegades is too much theatrics. Honestly it’s distracting. Phase II Zia it for me

Sounding nice too. Tight. Something special and different from other bands.
#11. Supernova. Founded 2010, youngest band. Amrit Samaroo, Arranger. Playing Wet Me Down.

I would hate to be a judge tonight. Every band sounded good except TTEC. Which means dem judges getting cuss whoever wins
In reply to Jumpstart
I was going to say same thing. All winners.
I enjoyed tonight!!
Is Pan one of the few remaining Caribbean endeavors that still strives, survives, and works extremely hard for perfection?
In reply to Curtis
Maybe. But I found Phase II didn’t deserve to come second to last. But it was a good night so guess somebody had to lose

Went to their Woodbrook pan yard more than once way back when
I hear Renegades and All Stars tied for 1st.
I bet plenty people upset with judges...as can be expected with these quality performances.
Interesting to hear results and compare to my real time observations. Didn't expect Renegades at 1st .

I actually had a renegades superfan who was in the savannah last night. She wasn't worried until she heard all stars. One of my best friends was actually the arranger for starlift. They performed pan in A minor. they were great this year, but they were spectacular last year. Somehow they finished 11th,, which was absurd

Never a year without judging controversy. Who sponsor Renegades and other carnival or pan things? Maybe he who pays the piper, calls the tune.
In reply to Curtis
tellin yuh. People say Pan by Storm was the sure winner of Panorama 1990....somehow they lost to renegades. before i was born though but even up to now, its a big controversy in steel pan circles. Fonclaire was a south band, renegades was/is the darling of town people etc.
