JASON HOLDER IS FINISHED
In reply to Jumpstart
I think you need to explain to us, and to your shrink, how Jason Holder took up permanent residency in your head.

He couldn't even get a seat on the Guyanese bench?

Is Jason Holder your daily peeve, you need to give it up, JHO will be in the world cup squad, he is too valuable as a utility player to be left out. You must remember he bowls in the power play and at the death.
You do know that most commentators and ex-players rate Holder.
Are you getting rid of Hosein as well in the 3 matches he bowled 10 over for 107, he bowl outside the power play today and went at 11s or do you still think that the captains can’t set a field for him?
In reply to Jumpstart
look! Jason is not my favorite t20 cricketer but he deserves this little extra accommodation, he has mad a lot of sacrifice for WI cricket
In reply to bird
he sacrificed $$$?

Jason holder made a lot of sacrifices because he wasn't good enough to be a franchise pick for a long time. Who would pick holder for any franchise after Ab de Villears mauled him twice in two months in 2015? Who would have picked him in 2016 when he could not make the WT20 starting XIs in the world cup which we won? He was a mediocre cricketer for a long time. I acknowledge that he became relatively good for the last two years of his captaincy, but had regressed badly since his tantrum that followed his being relieved of that assignment(only he and bajans thought he was any good anyway). When Mark Nicholas called WI short of brains, he said he based that on holder's team's performance in Australia before the WT20 which we won.

Dude. You have some serious tabanka for Jason Holder.

What is the girls name he stole from you?
I know how to reach him...I will have him make a public apology to you

Every time Jumpy eating that Bajan flying in Tittieland he's thinking of Jason Holder.
In reply to powen001
when you make that call, tell him his T20 numbers for 2023 are ordinary
and that doosra can send them with you or che che
DWL
In reply to doosra
exactly! we only talk about those who don't make them selves available, but Holder has sacrificed lots of money which most of us can't do
In reply to Jumpstart
Jumpy but how you whining about Holder's performance in 2015 against one of the best white ball players to ever play the game?? Holder had barely started his career and the selectors saw his potential. He went on to be the number one ranked all rounder in the world.
In reply to Ray123
and they gave him the captaincy.....and he promptly led us to unprecedented beat downs. You seem to forget holder was cappo then. if he was so young, then he shouldn't have accepted it. Dwayne Bravo as captain would have never, ever had a bowler that young and that slow against AB. Holder thought he'd be the hero and was caned.
Even when we reached the Tri series following the wt20 win in 2016....holder was captain and rode on the back of performances from marlon and darren bravo(who both scored centuries), sunil narine, shannon gabriel and denesh ramdin.

when he was not ready, they gave him love, opportunities that others did not get, they gave him security so he didn't have to worry about being dropped for poor performance and they gave him the best level contract.
He received the most and best opportunities for a WI cricketer in living memory.
They did so because he met certain criteria:
1. He had tons of potential- hardly given justice to it- recently he seemed to have regressed.
2. He is/was a natural "Afro Saxon" in mannerisms and outlook- which the WICBC/CWI had always wanted.
3. There were little alternative to choose from.
Jason Holder isn't finished, at least I hope so, I would like to see him go at it and who knows, he can be a late bloomer.

.
he had potential. not tons of it. Iremember his first international vs australia at perth in 2013. Ian Healy said he bowled good lines but was too slow. Bravo, who was captain, said they were trying to make him into the next Ambrose but he needed to increase his pace. he never did. luckily, his best days as a bowler coincided with shanon gabriel's best days as the WI enforcer. If dudes are intimidated or runing from Shannon's pace, you bowl in good lines and you're going to get wickets because batsmen are taking risks against you. Let's face it, you don't expect holder to bowl out teams for very little.
