Like the look of Solozano!!! He's been quietly doing his tang. Very compact.. Decent technique...

Not everyone needs to try to bludgeon the ball. I wouldn't say Jeremy is a poker comparable to Brath or Shiv. Jeremy has a much better technique that allows him to be in better positions to get the ball off the square." I have watched a few of his innings this season and I have been impressed. Hopefully, he gets on an A tour.

Yes Solozano is looking better this season, he values his wicket, but he now looks to score faster.

Agreed. Like Greaves and Shamar Springer, WWI seems to suit his temperament more than his national side. I think that if he can continue his performances he should very well be in the conversation for the A team with possibly Mikyle from LI and Mohan from TTIn reply to dayne

Well, his strike rate thus far in the WI Championship is at 48, so not too bad. For comparison, Louis, who leads the run aggregate with 343 at an avg of 57, is going at a strike rate of 58. Chadwick Walton is blazing along at a tick under 70 and Brathwaite's SR is at 43, having scored 182 runs at an avg of 30. Carlos Brown, the young opener for Jamaica, has made 150 runs at an average of 30 so far. His strike rate is 41.66. As it stands, no other opening batsmen are really doing much to date but obviously, we still have several more rounds to go.

Solozano has 215 runs at an avg of 71.66 thus far, a good, solid start. His technique looks pretty good and if selected, will be tested by the English bowlers in their home conditions. Having said that, I am pleased that the test matches against England do not start until mid-July, by which time the pitches have generally gotten better and become harder with less lateral movement. England always seemed to invite the West Indies to start their tours in April / May, under overcast skies with the ball zipping around and cool air chilling the bones. Perhaps this time, conditions will not favour the medium paced seam and swing bowlers quite so much.

Tage Chanderpaul is clearly struggling, both scoring runs and at the rate in which he does so. He really needs to step it up in the second phase of the tournament. West Indies will need an opening partner for Captain Braffit...ideally, one who rotates strike and does not allow the pressure to built so much. One poker at the very top of the order is fine but not two.

I like Tag. Heck, I like all our players!
I believe they all deserve their chances, but Tag Technique is very disappointing. There are so many things wrong with his technique I don’t know where to start. Don’t think he can succeed with this technique.
