or not available for 2024 West Indies Championship? CCC could use an infusion of pace to challenge some of our top order batsmen.

Simmons with the Academy team. Not sure about Clarke

A few of the U19 players should be drafted into the CCC squad..

- Sealy for his left arm spin
- Pascal to open the batting
- Nathan Edward to strengthen the pace attack.

Academy team should consider Junior Sinclair to strengthen their batting and bowling.

Why are they sitting instead of getting experience. These are two of the quicker young bowlers in the region and they are watching while lesser players are playing game after game.

Agreed. these guys should be playing once fit. Clarke seems to be able to get wickets and Simmonds is an exciting prospect as a left arm quickie.

I was wondering why Ramon Simmons with superior stats to all the Academy pacers was benched and watching.

I really thought the focus was to develop a strong group of young pacers. Especially since Joseph have reopened the door to bowling teams out. We have been turning out a bunch of medium to sweet bowlers with no venom.

Not sure what’s going on with Simmons… he’s been picked for various franchises over the last few years but virtually never gets the game. I can only presume that he fails to impress in net sessions/practice games …??

Agreed, many times it more about net sessions

On game day he shows up. Others are great practice players but continue to fail. He should be in CCC setup working on his game.

I had concluded that Simmons issues are off field ones. Why is he even with the Academy team. He was a star performer for Barbados in his first full season for them. Barbados bowling attack has never been more ordinary than it is now so its not like anyone is keeping him out

You may be on what wrong with Simmons, I remembered he had a good regional u19 performance, but only got 1 game in the u19WC games. he was in the academy team last year and only was a reserve.

The Academy team is stocked with young pacers who were in the setup before he was added. Would think that would be the pecking order. CCC though, is carrying pacers that are not yet regional level. We have to give these guys experience because our season is so short.

Did he not have an injury after his first season?

I have been informed Simmon's problems are related to his fitness but we saw Primus and Cumberbatch playing for Barbados and not looking so fit so it must be an intangible.

I have noticed when these rookie players to FC cricket indulge in plying their trade in T20 leagues, they end up getting drop from the Barbados setup....both Dominic Drakes and Simmons were dropped last year and it wasn't because of non performance.
