The Barbados teams, male and female are products of the coaching structure on the Island.
Holder and Reifer came right from bowling 4-overs to a red ball format, Roach last game was in Australia with no prep.
Roach when in Barbados does not play local cricket, bowling in the nets is not the same as playing competitively.
The bowling unit lacked energy.
It is time to look at rebuilding the team, with youngsters, not players over 25 years old, building starts at the bottom.

It's a big difference between bowling at 6pm when it dark to bowling at 11am .every body is a fast bowler.

Are you saying that Guyana did not bowl between 10.00 am and 4:00 pm?
Barbados bowling was quite ordinary, it lacked penetration and energy, and even Kemar was out of character, which was way below his standard.
We need a few fast bowlers, Jair needs plenty of work, he is far away from the regional standard, Chemar is still rusty, but needs the work.
It is time to move away from Reifer, I will keep Dowrich to assist the batting and a new Wicketkeeper and look for young spinners and batsmen, I will not select any Barbadian player that is over 25 years old, the system in Barbados has failed players over 22 years.

I am saying that bowling in the evening at 6pm favour quick bowling. Thorne is a special , and will be ready in 2 years to hunt international players.Jair should be further along since he has the knowledge of many WI players at his club..

Bro, this is 2024, not 1960, Jair needs a fast bowler coach to work with, the same as having a batting coach.
It cannot be during the 4-6 usual net session, his has to be various times during the day.
Barbados' local cricket is still at the amateur level, no team on the island has various coaches on staff, that may have been okay, 50 years ago, but would not work today.
A player must also put in the time, where every day he works for several hours, on a particular area of his game.

Andy Roberts, Mikey Holding...both among the greatest exponents of the chin music throughout the history of this beautiful game we all love. And both regularly say, fast bowlers need to put in the miles...run, run again, and run some more. Build yourself into a thoroughbred.

Jair McAllister has lots of potential...he is a genuine hit the deck hard bowler and needs a coach to be in his ear constantly. Sometimes, the short stuff is too frequent with him. When he gets it right, he would trouble any batter out there. But coaching is needed...

As for Isai Thorne, I have VERY high hopes for the young Guyanese quickie. Having seen him bowl a lot over the past twelve months, he is somebody that if he continues his development, will form a very dangerous prospect in the near future.

I do not want to jinx anything here...but I have hope for the future with these guys...

Roach looked ordinary in australia and i heard he was not that impressive at surrey either clock is ticking down for him.it was interesting the bowling selection of this match was shaquille cumberbatch injured? If not after a five wicket hall in the previous match why was he dropped ?

He was replaced by Jason Holder, the problem with the bowling unit is, Chamar Holder is working his way back, Jair is not yet ready, and Holder and Roach just don't have the speed to unsettle batsman.
Shaquille Cumberbatch is not the answer, even with his five-wicket haul.

The bowling unit needs players with energy, not medium pacers.

it seems like you have superior knowledge of moving an amateur system of the sixty to a professional set up in 2030. I suggest that you share this information with the BCA.
Jair is with the richest club in Bim and many players on staff have played international cricket and the club has the resources to assist with his development. I don't expect a young person like Jair to have the resources to invest in a full time coach on the small contract that was assigned to him.

Nothing special about Jair... The dude runs in and bowl short whole day. Bim better off focusing on Layne, Simmons and the other young pacers.

Maybe you could help me out... Ah trying to find out if cricketers in Bim don't take fitness seriously anymore? Asking because it's a bunch of unfit fat guys making their debuts or playing with dem these days....

I once ask Sir Everton why he gave light to the opposition squickly, he said cricket in Barbados is at the amateur stage, most of the players have 9-5 jobs and family, that why I give light when asked.
You think Wanderers have a numbers of coaches to work with him.
My daughter took music and dancing from 3 years to 22 years, my wife and I paid for her lessons, and performance school.
My wife took dance lessons with Arthur Murray for 25 years at $75 per lesson.
I pay for dance and golf lessons, so don't bring that to me.
My first ten gold lessons, I was given a VHS tape of my swing and what I should be working on, that 35 years ago, video coaching was longer than 35 years.

Most likely Jair never played youth cricket, he needs a lot of work starting with his approch to the wicket.
