Toronto man abuses delivery driver
In reply to Arawak
dude is an idiot. i remember buying a sandwich at Gatwick airport, the kiosk owner didn't have exact change and the currency he had would have been useless to me where i was heading and i never thought of behaving like that. no need to embarrass people. But i guess west indians are different. things that we used to get licks for....like not showing manners, other people don't consider as problematic at all
Honestly, I was shocked that someone could behave that way. It's not about the tipping issue, it's just about treating a person like that.

Well, would you believe it? The poor delivery man is just trying to make a living, and then he has the misfortune of encountering this absolute idiot.
The way he treated the driver is just a clear indication of his lack of self-worth, and the choice of words he used is reminiscent of a prison vocabulary.
I wouldn't be surprised if he's got a rap sheet as long as a giraffe's neck and is practically a pro at pulling off these kinds of shenanigans.
The driver deserves a standing ovation for how brilliantly he dealt with this absolute joker.
And to top it off, the genius decides to share the video with the world. Someone will recognize this dipstick and dummy his rass
Luckily, he managed to stay hidden.
I see why they call Toronto "Hogtown"...thankfully not all residents are as such.

Either the victim, or his employer, should have reported this to the police.
We have some very robust hate crime laws in place now to deal with these losers.

I sent it to a member of the Toronto Police Board that I know .
She told me she is forwarding it to the Chief of Police immediately...
The idiot..

Sickening

More than sickening, it is abuse.

That particular dotard came from the Caribbean. As if a Canadian dotard would pay with cash.
Some interesting behavior these days in Toronto. Some Caribbean peeps are exhibiting anti-newer immigrants stereotyping and, I guess, racism. I guess one nationality does not have a monopoly on this behavior.

The Twitter account which shared that video is pure trash.
It's owned and run by an Ethopian fellow and a Persian fellow and got notoriety during the pandemic by sharing and re-posting far right wing anti-vaccination misinformation and disinformation often veiled behind the caption "Thoughts?". Apparently, their social media accounts were started originally as a way to give local rappers an opportunity to showcase their talents but quickly de-evolved into far right politics and disseminating misinformation.
It seems that their current M.O. is to share controversial videos which generates clicks to boost ad revenues. The problem is that it has a far right wing bias and seems to particularly target the Indian community in Brampton and Mississauga.
What's disturbing is that many young people look at the garbage posted on their social media accounts and consider it credible "news".

Really?
I lived in Whitby in 2015/16, my wife wanted to move back to GTA, and I knew very little of the area, the worst part of the move was, that my wife was commuting between Fort Mac and Pierson, so I was alone every period for 14 days.
Luckily my brother lives in Toronto and could handle all the junk I don't see in Alberta.
My first experience was going to a Korean market to buy some West Indies products, I was going to cook a roast duck for my bro and me.
After paying for the groceries, I got to my car, realizing that I did not get the duck cut into four, I returned and got it done.
Walking out of the store I pointed to my receipt, and a cashier followed me, knowing she wanted to check to see if I had stolen I stopped.
Four guys saw what was happening and came and cussed both the cashier and me.
I was too soft and polite, they said.
The next time was at another Korean store, in line for check out and one Jamaican lady, returned a frozen uncooked chicken, wanting to replace it with a protein she wanted.
It was interesting to me, and I was not going to leave until I saw how this was going to be handled.
The Jamaican did not get her way, but I was told this is a regular occurrence.

That's some regular behavior by immigrant businesses that are not big on customer service. As these are generally owned by someone working there, folks tend to be less trusting. Plus, these days, rent and produce is expensive so attention is placed on loss prevention.
Until relationships are built, things can be rough. Plus, sometimes it's first-time business owners feeling their way.
What I was referring to is some older immigrants of color behaving badly towards newer immigrants of color, likely from a different part of the world and speaking another language.

that does not surprise me at all now that you've posted it. Ethiopian women and ethiopian music are glorious but the as a people they're very arrogant and aloof.....and unmannerly. Met some in germany and asked for directions to a train terminal.....and they were downright hostile. eritreans are just as bad
