Alyuh remember that match?  WI fighting to stave off defeat, last day, overs running out, 9th wicket scratching to remain not out. I think it was Dinas, but not sure who his partner was.

Can someone remind me please?

Dinas ketch cramp, or pull a muscle. Time running out. They held on. I suppose Dinas had to limp around for a week after that match.

One, from the Kensington Oval in 2001, when "Dinas" was still very much a player and engaged in a desperate battle to save a Test match against South Africa with Mervyn Dillon. With West Indies collapsing inexplicably on the final afternoon, the pair contrived to survive in farcical fashion, wasting time in the most obvious way, feigning serious injury even, so that treatment could come from the pavilion and more time could be frittered away at the crease. The match referee was unimpressed and Ramnarine was fined, but West Indies got their draw.

I don’t remember the Barbados game. I remember Lara trying to win the next test with the tail, think he made 90 something but was struggling badly with a hamstring injury that nearly cost him his seat on the SL tour that followed

I remember thinking at the time that Ramnarine had a lot of guts to do what he was doing, to save his team from defeat. South African players were shaking their heads.

Was almost like a soccer dive. Haven't seen something like that since. Kudos to Dinas.

He was right though. WI had been scarred by the 98 whitewash and most certainly would not have won the last test in JA if we were going into the last test 3-0 down
