Kohli is to RCB in IPL

What Shai Hope is to WI in ODI’s?

the best comparison i could think of...

it is a hard criticism , if it is indeed one, but it isn't working

he gets you a 100 but you get 180 with 7 wickets remaining...nowadays you'd lose that 9 out of 10 times

how do you address that, if it is indeed an issue

one of the things Hope has been rightly noted as causing is stagnation...the innings go nowhere...not fast...momentum in T20 is priceless...Kohli is a steady player who can up his SR...but the innings go no where

again, difficult to criticize this but it is that thing...the 'no moment'...

take today for example...125 off 14...you'd think ah great...but the rest would have to come in and go at 12+ an over to get you to 200...now not everyone can do that...not everyone name Pollard and a few others...ppl genuinely need to get a few balls in...if the hitters come in a touch earlier, they get a bit more time to get into their hitting...

Jos Butler went at 170+ today compared to Kohli 150+...and tho Samson was going, they still got pushed to the last over....so yea it is probably about resource utilization...Bish said on commentary they can't end at 183 with 7 wickets in the shed

maybe none of that makes sense ,but that is how i see it

it is perfect for 50 overs because it is a long time and generally you get about 30 more overs to score about 150 runs more maximum compared to a T20

RCB is a poorly built team. They do the same thing every year. Stack the side with big name and expensive batters, they neglect their bowling. They will never win unless they change their approach. It is not on Kohli.

Facts.

Even back in the day when they had Gayle and he was making lots of runs for them……they bowling has always been their weak link

This lineup had Gayle, Kohli, and AB DeVilliers.

But no bowling. Ever.

You would think they would have learnt by now.

They had a Steyn after he passed his prime. He was of no use by then. They overpaid for AlJO, Dropped him after a couple matches.

Exactly. Then Chahal left a few seasons ago, they have not been able to find a good spinner whether Indian or Overseas since.

Every year they stack the batting and try to spend on one or 2 good bowlers

They are also quick to give up on young players.

Remember they had a young KL Rahul (same time Gayle, AB were there). They had Paddikal a couple seasons ago and he did well. Gone after one season as they preferred to spend on an big name high priced batter.

Hasaranga, Hetty were also RCB players.

I don't understand the criticism. Is it that people don't understand the nuances of the game or just love to chat crap. All the big bats were falling around him. He and Faf have said that when that happens one of the two of them must bat through to the end. One man does not a cricket team make. Ask Lara. Or Shiv.
RCB's problem has always been a lack of quality bowling. That is on the owner and decision makers. Not the players on the field.
