This is so ironic coming from the DJ Khalid of cricket. Sammy is de biggest hype man in history. All dat clapping does energize de crowd

It’s what happens when you give ppl things they don’t deserve. Anybody could have captained those t20 sides he won the WC with. In fact Gayle, Bravo and Sarwan were tactically superior and in performance. The same thing happened to Holder…..his performances dropped significantly when he was relieved of the captaincy. And I don’t think anybody can deny that Kraigg is a much, MUCH better captain than holder

WI fans are a conflicted lot

Immediately after the Oz series, Darren Sammy told reporters that he would love to have Shamar in the T20 World Cup team.

WI “fans” were outraged and adamant that Shamar stay away from “lickit cricket” of any kind and focus solely on the “sanctity of red ball cricket”. Sammy got accused of trying to poach “their” player for his own inferior cause.

Now that Sammy essentially saying that selection for the t20 World Cup team is not a given for Shamar, but he needs to perform in that format, same fans apoplectic.

Ironically, Sammy is using the same argument that the red ball purists use when it’s suggested that players who primarily play T20 cricket be considered for selection for precious red ball cricket.

Those same fans insist that layers play regional red ball cricket first so they perform in that format of the game before being considered for selection to the test team.

Beyond that…..same fans vex because they can’t get tickets to matches at the format of the game they detest so much.

Can’t determine if the angst on display is because it’s being suggested that Shamar play at the T20 World Cup, or it’s because Sammy voiced his opinion?

More than likely it’s both.

babble is exactly what it is. Music man convince he self he's the deep thinker in cricket. Music wrong on that score. Yes he makes sound and funny posits sometimes however openning, hubert, dukes, mkcharles even chrissy and larr are nuanced in equal measure or moreso than itito.

One must know when silence is golden. I'll never forget Sammy in England during a pre-test interview parroting Otis Gibson on Gayle's non-selection.
I can never understand why or how CWI allows this man to continueosly 'Ginnal' dem. Hopefully we will in spite of him win the World T20 on home
soil so they can bray his ginnalship was worth it.
