Chemar’s progress has only been steady; he needs more cricket and nice Tour like what the A team did late last year. Philips is the best of the rest.

Chemar Holder is not ready yet. I would like to see him on an A tour as the next step. The very promising Isai Thorne must go the next A tour too, he looks a real prospect. The youngster Layne is also showing he has what it takes to perform at the FC level, so should be considered for the A team.

I know some have mentioned Jair McAllister but I feel he is bowling too short, too often. A one trick pony is never going to make it at international level so he needs more work.

Sinclair vs Motie is not a debate for me as both are certain picks for the squad. Kevin Sinclair is probably the most improved batsman over the past 12-18 months, he should soon start to command a middle order role for himself. Actually, he considers himself more of a batsman nowadays and I think a look at what he has done over the past 12 months or so confirms that.

Phillip has to be in contention, along with Louis.

Seales did very well in his first county outing last week but today, along with Roach and Holder who are both also playing county cricket, failed to take a wicket.

S.Joseph, A.Joseph, Seales are the three that I would say MUST be in the squad. Holder needs to show me something, as does Roach. Both, especially Kemar, have been fine performers but for different reasons, whether it be time catching up or concentrating on white ball cricket, neither are an absolute guarantee at this stage.

I hope that Alzarri Joseph gets some rest before the test tour...he looks a bit jaded to me and as a strike bowler, West Indies obviously cannot have that.

You have to be careful when you endorse a Trini to tour with a Windies team to tour anywhere,it is an un-written constitution, you are free to choose any cricketer from any other region,no problems with that.

big grin Phillip has been consistent and also has been around the test team before. He is ahead of Louis by a nose I think. I am concerned about proper development of Thorne. I would play him in the Emerging series against Ireland and let him get a taste of the green top wickets. Louis, John and Springer make the A team for me. Springer is one of the most improved players this season and definitely should make the A team as a third seamer with Josh Bishop and maybe Salmon to round off the bowling. it is a little concerning to me that we cannot seem to find any promising young offies either. Dember and Charles have not really progressed. Chaim Holder has been dropped.

M Louis has also pencilled in his name for the A team and I dont want to be accused of recency bias in respect of Jangoo but how can you ignore a man who has a recent average of 350? Those are Shiv-esque kinda figures.

West Indies Test squad: Kraigg Brathwaite (c), Alzarri Joseph (vc), Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Kirk McKenzie. Alick Athanaze, Kavem Hodge, Justin Greaves, Joshua DaSilva, Akeem Jordan, Gudakesh Motie, Kemar Roach, Kevin Sinclair, Tevin Imlach, Shamar Joseph, Zachary McCaskie

This is the Australia tour squad....

The primary question, whether anyone needs to be dropped from the squad....to my mind Akeem Jordan is the only one , who might be dropped....He failed in few matches....has been dropped from Barbados squad..

So we have...
Roach
Shamar
Joseph

Only addition to my mind, would be Jason Holder in place of Akeem

My team XI
Braithwaite
Tage
McKenzie
Athanaze
Hodge
Greaves
Silva
Holder
Sinclair
Joseph
Shamar

Holder has good record in England compared to Roach, can open with Joseph... Shamar & Greaves ...then Sinclair... batting deep... bowling...two seaming and swing bowlers, who can bowl long spells....two bowlers can bowl over 145 kms...
Phillips can be part of A team...in case of any injury.. Phillips becomes part of squad...

Phillips is putting up the numbers to be in contention. Seales on the other hand has some credit in the bank from his past test performances.

Seales is also gaining valuable experience bowling on the county circuit. For a West Indian quick, he bowls a bit fuller than most. This will certainly help when the tests start against England. I like him and he has had rotten luck with shoulder and knee issues the past 12 months or so. Hopefully, fitness is not an issue going forward because he is a good young bowler.

I think the 5 that'll go are Roach, Shamar, Al-Jo, Seales, Holder.

If there's an A tour planned then Phillip and Louis should be selected for that.

Phillips knows how to get wickets at first class level which is a good sign.
Alzharri has great tools but can't seem to package them so he can stay home IMHO.
Only surety in my opinion is Shamar.
Seales once fit I would definitely carry he has the tools and knows how to use them.
Mayers has been best bowler over past two years I would carry.
Holder Roach Greaves...maybe one of them at most.Holder and Roach no longer look hungry.
Louis is a swing bowler who doesn't always swing but he is having a good year and seems to be bowling quicker so no problem carrying him.

Is he related to you or a clubmate?
When was Mayers ever the CWI best bowler?
