. Been whispering in his ears' - Powell is trying to get Narine to play T20 World Cup

This our Skipper

A capo interested in having his best players on the field. It’s the maturity required of a WI captain. In 2019, in the build up to the World Cup, we had a tactically inept West Indies captain, a hard working but virtually talentless WI cricketer who assumed captaincy in an era of turmoil, who was offered the services of two of the best West Indian cricketers available. His response, according to one of those cricketers was to say that it would be unfair to the players who played( and did nothing) in the WC qualifiers. As a result, the WI went into that tournament without Samuels( who braved an injured back to make sure we qualified), Dwayne Bravo, a t20 legend and Kieron Pollard, but went in with the likes of Ashley Nurse, RTN, Kemar roach and shanon gabriel(the first two who were crap at cricket and other two who were strictly red ball players) and lost 6 out of 9 completed games( would have lost 7 if the SA game had not been rained out). Captaincy is a job for big men not little boys( no matter how tall they are)

The music man or boy was going crazy the other day when I called for someone to whisper in Sunil’s ears about reversing his retirement.

Glad our leader Powell is already onto it.

Allyuh leff Narine in peace.

He know what time it is. West Indians in general are fickle to say the least. They will say publicly, yeah select Narine fuh World Cup while simultaneously wanting him to fail.

As always, do what YOU want to do Sunil.

Narine may come back if he feels the right people are there. Narine’s last t20 was under Holder, who was t even a regular in the t20 side and I think that together with the fact that RTN, another failure, could have become captain, gave him a bad taste in his mouth. No Narine never played an international t20 under Pollard. I don’t even think it was because he was afraid he would be called because Narine has never been reported in international cricket( that dunce Simon Doull should have done some research before he opened his trap)

Was he a failure?

I believe he will return under Powell and Sammy.

Holder was a WICBC man when he was cappo and his learning curve was too steep for the likes of Narine.

Let me ask you a simple question, who were the batsmen that were at the wicket when Wi won the world cup?

Samuels , who scored one of the all time great t20 innings and RTN, who took us home. The chances of RTN doing that were astronomically against him. The chances of him doing it again are next to nothing. His cricket never went anywhere and by 2019, it had regressed so much that he could not even be in the KKR bench. At one point homie was touring schools WHILE the IPL was going on. The only person who his captaincy or how he got it could be compared to is Sammy, who was also a recipient of getting the position when he wasn’t a team regular. And Sammy has two world cups and a semifinal to show for it

This. Right here.

He can pelt with impunity in mickey mouse lickit tournaments because no one cares about that crap.

In international cricket however, that's a different story and Sunil ain't chupid unlike a lot of his Tittie fans.

clearly yuh didn't check his stats before you asked this insipid question. openning yuh does walk/run into insults like a full bus without breaks. Ramnarine played 12 tests, and took 45 wickets at an average of just over 30. the average of a decent spin bowler is usually 25-30. to put it in context, danish kaneria, who has ripped through many lineups, finished with an avg of 34. harbajhan singh finished with an average of 32. of course we know these two great offspinners were allowed to have full careers. Nathan Lyon has an avg just over 30 like Ramnarine. I say this in the knowledge that vastly inferior bowlers were played by west indian teams in the late 90s/ early 2000s. people like mahendra nagamootoo, who finished with an average of 53, people like darren powell who was taken on the tour of india in turning conditions in 2001, people like ryan hinds, who was completely talentless in every respect. we know the politics of WI cricket doesn't take logic into consideration

wasn't allowed to have a long career but he was certainly more successful than RYAN HINDS, rtn, ryan hurley, tino best, miguel cummins, patterson thompson, ashley nnurse, Jomel Warrican. Ramnrine, along with bishoo and amit jaggernauth are among quite a few players who have been treated very unfairly by the wi selectorsnd

After the humiliation of Stephen Ames, T&T professional athletes should be measured when speaking of others.
It is always good to look in the mirror before speaking of others, but what comes out of a person's mouth, tells us the type of person that is speaking.

hoss we have 3 olympic gold medals, 3 world champs golds, how many other lesser medals at world champs and olympics, a current world record holder in cycling, and we've qualified for a fifa world cup(would have been 3 if haiti didn't steal the 1974 qualifier match where we scored 5 goals which were all ruled offside by the ref and 1990 where john doyle hacked down one our players in the box and said that that his heart almost came through his mouth because he thought the USA had and should have conceded a penalty

Why Tiger Woods was actually upset he beat Stephen Ames 9 and 8

I can say more, I have met him numerous times, he was a member of the Calgary Golf & Country Club, a club I have been working at since 2010.
But just like I will never write about other pros, I will not add anything to Stephen.

No sure what you are getting at with Ramnarine question but by the time of his last test match Ramnarine had just started to master his craft and would likely have been a big asset to WI thereafter. His non-selection for the subsequent NZ tour, whatever the reason, was tragic in many respects not only because we lost a promising wicket taker who had just reached his prime but because it unleashed a decade of divisive relations between players and board thereafter
