The Century Palm is blooming
From the Gleaner
Absolutely beautiful.
Clean the tree, and it would be even more beautiful.

Wait yuh come back

There is also one in Trinidad's botanical garden- with the same flowering right now. My understanding is the tree will not die, but it will also not flower for a long long time.
And the other poster, no we are not to "clean the tree." The tree needs no help from man, what you see as "unclean" is the work of nature, no need to do anything with it.

Absolutely beautiful .. and to think one may only experience this once in
their lifetime.. Sorry I am not bin JA to experience it. Hope Gardens used to be
a goto place on a weekly basis when living in Kingston back in the day.
Hope it is still nice.

It’s as beautiful as ever
I’m going to have a look on Sunday.
When I lived in Mona Heights, I used to walk the dog in Hope Gardens and sit and read books. A lovely peaceful spot. Our parents used to take us to the Botanical Gardens in Guyana when we were children - both are wonderful.

So happy to know Hope Gardens is still nice..Spent a lot of happy times there as a youth as it
was the place that young and old found peaceful .It was the place to take our dates ,lie
on the grass take pictures and bask in the beauty on nice sunny days.
That Number 6 JOS buses were loaded on Sundays with disciplined people too
and there was no zoo then either.
Fond memories of a better time..
The youth of today should be indulging in such peaceful and relaxing atmosphere and
perhaps the country/City will be less violent.
I enjoyed the best the country had to offer and it is well with my soul

Agree re the cleaning .
We might look at Sri Lanka, India and Singapore for some proof of what happens after they bloom and fruit.
