"That door is now closed" - Narine
debut: 5/26/04
92,789 runs
"I'm truly flattered and humbled that my performances recently have moved many people to publicly express their wish for me to come out of retirement and play in the upcoming T20 World Cup," Narine wrote.
"I have made peace with that decision and whilst I never wish to disappoint, that door is now closed and I will be supporting the guys who take the field in June for West Indies.
"Guys who have worked hard for the past few months and deserve to show our wonderful fans that they are capable of winning another title - I wish you all the best."

AMEN.
That should put all the talk and hand wringing to bed.
But of course, it won’t. Haters will continue to hate.

And I agree with Narine and his statement. He at peace with it. Cause if he comes back and it doesn't work out. You know how much wud he'll get?
The man at peace and people should respect people decisions.

As I noted before as long as Bassarath is in T&TCB
Narine will avoid any cricket with affiliation to CWI
He made some remarks when Narine was called , no love lost.
He will play in T20 leagues or ones located in T&T.(TKR)

It is not about not respecting his decision as you incorrectly put it.
It is about a people’s choice to lobby for their legendary star who they wanted to convince to return for their national team.
No one took away his ability to say NO.
Narine may still return as there are behind the scene discussion as the selectors have all agreed he is a walk in

Well done Narine, put the speculation to rest, he is in a good spot in his life, earning a lot of money, why take chances that could backfire

A few players have been called for illegal action and came back, they were strongly backed by their entities that govern Cricket.
Narine used his own money and changed his action and was cleared in England and Australia.
Thier are rumors that BCCI was responsible for the initial allegation , they didn't want him competing against India

and West INDIES resuts are stellar so it means we are not needed right? Check any result in the last 30 years of wi cricket and you'll positive contributions by trinis. 17 years off brian lara and only one test win in that entire career does not see him making a leading or the leading contribution....the 418 chase in 2003(still scored half centuries in each innings). frank worrell trophy 1999, pakistan vs wi 1993, sa vs wi 1992, the icc champions trophy 2004. past lara, the 2009 widen trophy, denesh ramdin scored his first hundred and held on valiantly with fidel edwards for support against broad and anderson firing to ensure the WI win their first wisden trophy in 11 years, the wt20 2012, 3/4s of the side were trinidadians, half were trinis in 2016. just because barbados, and especially the leeward and windward islands do next to nothing in WI cricket since our official fall in 1995. you even take da uilva's 70 odd out of the brisbane test and wi lose quite easily
