Can France still be called a Democracy:
The French MP Mathilde Panot has been summoned by the police for "justifying terrorism" after her party described the October 7 attacks as an "armed offensive by Palestinian forces led by Hamas in the context of the intensification of the Israeli occupation of Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem."
Panot heads the lower house of the parliament faction of the France Unbowed (LFI) party, which is France's strongest political force on the left.
Panot said it was the first time in the history of modern France that a head of a parliamentary faction "was summoned on such serious grounds."
"I am warning about this serious exploitation of justice aimed at suppressing political expression," she said.
