It does boost the economies of the territories, but for the owners, losses have been incurred since. The question is whether the CWI and the governments are prepared to take over the losses.

I have been meaning to ask if those impact reports are net of government concessions, subsidies and costs related to hosting the tournament as well as the actual percentage of credit card payments that finds itself into the local economy

In their corporate "cost accounting" methodology, a "loss" doesn't mean they are losing money, or in layman term, their expenditure is greater than their revenue.

No, in cost accounting, they say for example, every $1mil spend should give us a return of 10%, and if the actual return in investment is say, 8%, they they will call that a loss in their revenue model.

If CPL claims they are yet to make a profit, then they should open up their book so independent analysts can review it. There are lots of complex areas and I suspect they are taking a defensive view.

if the net impact is positive there should not be a hard sell to the governments, Barbados by some means ,get to host part of all English tour, that is not an accident.

I am not against foreign ownership, just think we did not put a high enough value on the product when we sold. If CPL is to realize its full potential we may need foreign ownership, just look at the management of CWI, where decisions are made to favor one member at the expense of the body.
