Kensington Oval's outfield....

I see the fungus is back... Someone needs to tell the ground staff they need to treat that with some Patch Pro. This should have been done a long time ago. It only takes around a month to get results.

Or they could put baking soda in the irrigation water and that would help.

I wonder what they're using on that grass. Sometimes the more expensive grass isn't the right one. A cheaper, more sturdy grass may be better for the conditions.

I have no clue, but it seems to be a really soft grass

Bermuda is best for Caribbean hot weather..but like everything has to be cared with relevant expertise.
Surprised that Bermuda rather than Bent grass is at New York Venue as this is the preferred grass for
the northern climate.
And with the haste to get that venue up, it will take time to become a much better total surface for cricket.
But long term they should switch to Bent if this is going to a permanent site for top class cricket.

The dry spell just recently didn't help

True, but u mean they don't have water storage tanks for the dry spells.

Something isn't right.

I believe they choose the wrong type of grass. Seems too hard to maintain for that climate.

A pink slip is overdue for the regional grounds/pitch curator. No improvement in grounds/pitches for many moons

Clearly the pitches are too dry. Conditions in the Caribbean need at least some grass to hold the pitch together, if you want a harder pitch with more consistent bounce.

I would suggest changing the soil content also. Adding the right clay content would work, but that process takes time.

I don't think they're making any effort to improve the pitches. They're just preparing dust bowl after dust bowl.
