Interaction on the boundary line from over to over and over again , time to overtime is rather strange. The skipper is the coaches puppet on a string? This ain’t gonna end nicely…

So Darren Sammy and Rovman Powell
Not conventional at all. But the given the personalities, comradry, the state and importance of the game then, and Sammy's experience it may have gone well.
However I don't see this will be a regular occurrence nor will it go down well.
PS
Now I don't want yo sow seeds of discord if the synergies between guys are working well. But definitely unconventional.
The skipper didn't seemed too amused

Is this against the rules?

Rovman was actually trying to shoo the fcuker away.

You saw that, eh! I thought I was the only one who saw it. It was funny! Rovman even cracked a smile or was it a smirk?!
Maybe it is a technique like football where the manager is on the sidelines if he sees something that the captain nor players realizes
In any event, they call the crowd the “12th man” and the crowd always shouting something so I see this as a positive thing if the advice is beneficial to the team’s success and game management
Sammy loves the cameras...when things are going well.
It makes Sammy looks like a micro- manager and Powell weak, the expression on Powell (John Wayne) face seems to be annoyed.

Totally agree....coaches should be allowed hands-on access to on field events ...like every other sport allows

I've said before, and I'll say it again.
When the WI are getting a good ole fashion cutass, Scammy will be nowhere near a TV camera much less on the boundary chatting chupidness to the players.
I high commend Cough Sammy with his healthy, aggressive couching style. He moreover is passing on on demand knowledge and skill using a wide variety of verbal and nonverbal acumen so desparately needed as the windies powers back by God's grace.
Thats not good, surprised to see Sammy on the boundary there. Cannot micromanage in professional sports, give them a role, help refine the skills, plan and motivate.

Are you insinuating that $ammy's lack of (professional) certification as coach, justifies his behavior (being discussed)?
Man, move yuh blow wow!
Coaching approaches differ. Phil Jackson was a Sammy like in your face coach with Jordan, Pippen, Grant and others. College and NFL couches also have various styles as do baseball couches. A win is a win is a win. Sammy moreover varies his approach with great situational awareness.
I have never seen Sammy do this before. Maybe it's the stress of the world cup
Some who openly criticized the former WI batting coach from India for 'di same said ting' now praising Sammy. Kiss me neck! hahahahahaha
Actually, Desi or whatever the Indian coach's name is wasn't as obtrusive because he couldn't talk to batsmen in the middle he could only
observe and recommend when they come in for breaks or go out at drinks to give advice or point out flaws
Syewwwps too may axe to grind
The Sammy Rovman axis is for a purpose
To win
Nobody care about foolish how it looking chupidness
And it looks damn good
It’s a family

Who said is wasn't allowed. It's just not conventional.
Cricket dynamics are different from that of football and coaches and managers aren't so involved.
Given this one off situation it could do no harm but it can't be the norm.
Rovman needs to be allowed to make his own mark. So far he's been brilliant. The guys respond well to his leadership.
So Sammy should stay in the confines of his role
Same Rovan Powell who turned his back on his native Jamaica because he would not listen to his great coaches Sir Curtleigh Ambrose and Shiv Chanderpaul.
Let us see what happens with Sammy.
