thats great, i strongly suspect the next generation of great caribbean athletes, excluding jamaica, will be foreigners of caribbean parentage. a little known fact is that george bovell iii, a truly great swimmer, was actually born in Canada, and definitely had the talent to represent Canada.....but he chose to represent a tiny caribbean country that could never dream to offer the remuneration canada could offer. If he can cause some upsets that would be great.

Good luck to him. May he replicate the successes of this other Guianese (or 'Guyanian'-- used to crack me up when Al Bernstein would say that re Patrick Forde and Terence Alli).

Amazing that he migrated in 2021 and has lost the Guyanese accent already. However, good luck, hope he win the gold

The story said he moved to that town in N.J. in 2021.

No mention was made of when he arrived in the US..

In reply to dayne He probably watched a lot of American TV back home, he's young & seems academically oriented... those things will neutralize your accent. Generally, education & longevity will neutralize it. Of course, if you're past 14 (according to linguists), you will still have traces of an accent!
