Guyana national stadium, best ground in world.
In reply to Jeremy
Is there a reserve day for the semi-final game between Hindia and Hingland scheduled for tomorrow morning?
I'm only asking because you opened your yabba mouth. Now Guyana is certainly going to earn the Mudland moniker.

they have 4 hour extra time...scattered rains predicted...they will play between the raindrops

In reply to DirtyDan
Which one? QPO? Brian Lara Stadium? Guaracara Park? UWI Ground?
In reply to imusic
The Brian Lara Stadium. Providence cost $25 million.
In reply to DirtyDan
Given your post, I’m going to make the assumption that you know how much the Brian Lara stadium cost
In reply to imusic
And how long it took to be built!!!
In reply to googley
You want something done properly, you take your time to do it.
As this World Cup has clearly demonstrated, Guyanese don’t even want to go to their own stadium
In reply to imusic
You know how much it cost, approximately?
In reply to DirtyDan
$850 million!!! It was supposed to be ready for the 2007 WC then delays occurred and wasn’t built until later because allegedly Lara being a PNM man didn’t want the stadium built by the UNC government
Unfortunately the same sort of politics is why Providence will remain just a National Stadium!!!
In reply to imusic
Hahahahahahahaha. Nice attempt

Cheap thing no Good, Good Thing no Cheap

i never heard that. i do know he was upset by the incomplete venue being used as a detention center during SOE and that it was being used for car shows instead of cricket. he had similar issues when the Brian Lara cancer treatment center was overloading patients with excessive radiation and at one point asked for his name to be removed from the hospital. worked stopped on BL academy after the 2010 election, and only resumed in 2016. I believe Dr Moonilal said at one point it would require 150 million TT to complete facility in 2013

This indian reporter in guyana say ground already dry in 20 mins after 2 days of rain.
Guyana national stadium at providence is the best in the world.
All games should be played in guyana.
In reply to Jeremy
to be honest...they need to names those stands after past greats...maybe the plan is to knock it down and rebuild a better one
In reply to ray
Good idea to rename stands after past greats.
But stadium is in good condition, no need for new stadium at the moment.
Drainage system is excellent.
In reply to iTito
Quite right Tito boy. Quite right.
Look at BCL Stadium. $850 million for state of the art roof, stands, dressing rooms, lights, press boxes, toilets, stairs, elevators.
$2 for the pitch.

Ideal finale would be rematch of 92wc semifinals.....Pommieland vs Saffies
Sunshine in Guyana for semi final.
Ground sold out.
Let's go INDIA.
It's pouring right now in GT.... might clear up by 10:30 though
One rabid Guyanese nationalist says it is sunny and another not so rabid says it is raining.
Get unnuh facts straight please
watching live...cloudy...not raining
drizzling

It raining Bangamary ...Toss delayed.
Rain has stopped, says Matt. Pitch, squares and run-up areas still covered. Playing area still unpopulated but that might change soon. "Now looking brighter overhead too," Matt adds. "Toss officially due in 18 mins but feels highly likely that it will be delayed. But judging by the speed of the earlier clear-up operation, I don't think the start time will be pushed too far back"
In reply to Jeremy
So why the delay? Waiting on the Berbice crowd to arrive?

In reply to Drapsey
Damn yuh good
In reply to Drapsey
You said a mouthful bro.
As Ozzies and Windies are out.
I don't give a darn if it rains in Guyana and Bim for a whole week starting today.
In reply to Jeremy
So Jeremy, where is the crowd that you promised?
And don't tell me that the people dem gawn a church. Today is Thursday, not Sunday.
In reply to Drapsey
Some of my friends went to guyana to watch the game. they paid $200 US which is very expensive for local guyanese.
And the British did not turn up because guyana do not have blue water and beaches.
