had put on a good fight so far in this game. I am very pleased that West Indian batsmen, Hodge and Athanaze, have put on a good pathnership that made us competitive. The West Indian captain and young West Indian Louis gave us a reasonable start. Hope that the young West indian opener would find his way and do well eventually, along with young McKenzie, another young West indian batsman. It was good to witness the solid batting from the young West Indian wicketkeeper, Da Silva; hope he can repeat with consistency.

Meanwhile, we hope that any or all of our West Indian bowlers would produce a productive day that would lay the platform for a reasonable chase by our West Indian team in the second inning.

England do not draw test matches. It is how they play. Their only draw in the last 20 or so matches was caused by rain at Manchester. So, we can expect to be treated to more of this method of cricket going forward into today. They will either really run up the score of get blown away trying to do so. The pitch remains good and will stay that way throughout the duration of the five days. Sunshine, clouds and the possibility of the odd shower are forecast. It is set up nicely for an exciting finish, let us hope that we get one.
