The fine batsman that he is, clearly does not play the short ball well. Australia found this out and tested him early and often. The West Indies, even with Shamar Joseph clearly nowhere near full fitness, out of form and practice, managed to unsettle him with a few short balls from both Shamar and Alzarri. The problem is...WHY did you not do this when he comes to the crease? That needs to be impressed upon ALL of the pace bowlers by the coaches before each innings that Brook starts.

In his relatively young test career, Brook has gotten out six or seven times through mistiming short balls. Start with that plan and stick to it.

Plays on the off side tremendously well. He & Roots man are immovable. Fact, man.
