Yes, he opted out of the Vietnam War claiming that it was in contradiction of his religious beliefs, and of course, suffered the consequences. He didn't lie about having a bone-spur which made him physically incapable of 'serving his country'.
But Nick, it's so disappointing that you could and would make such a comparison.
