Congrats Keacy! Roach's retirement series?

voiceofreason 2024-08-02 17:27:25

Well deserved! Make it count young fella from St.Maarten... Wow who would have thought that?

I guess Aljo had to take the fall for Kemar's retirement series.

Well deserved, Carty works on his game, within the last two years he has improve it, especially his fielding.

Yes. Good to see Carty in the thick of things. All the best to him.
Been a long wait and this is his best format.

Joseph was dropped because he bowled rubbish for a month stop making excuses .and if athanaze dont score any runs he should follow him try justifying 10 test matches with 1 half century.

i'm not here to defend bratwaithe average in test cricket it is no higher than a lot of wi batsmen of the past aka hooper, samuels etc,it is not good . but i'm at least objective in my criticism you go on and on about a man who averages 24 after ten tests and the other can't find the off stump bowling after 35 tests and has the worst strike rate of any fast bowler of any major cricketing nation.that is what you should find the energy for if you were not thinking solely about which territory they come from .

Kemar retiring officially...or you hoping so?

Yall quick to critize others but keep calling for washed up players who could barely make it on the field.

De way some of yall going on about Alzarri it's like he is useless... well thankfully the stats says otherwise.

Here are the numbers for the past 3 years

Alzarri
Wickets - 64
Average - 34
S/r - 50

Roach
Wickets - 47
Average - 29
S/r - 56

Holder
Wickets - 31
Average - 42
S/r - 88

Yet according to you Alzarri is the bowler with the worst S/R in the world... can't make this shyte up.

Link

If you check over the past two years it gets worse for the Bajan great... Holder S/R remains in the 80s and Roach own goes to 65.... Alzarri remains at 52.

What is Joseph avg compared/ to slow-ass Roach and slower than molasses Holder?

Why don't you post it? Does it change anything that I posted above?

What the numbers show is a player that's improving (not at the pace that most of us want) and two ole boys that are on the decline.

Keacy Carty has had a fairly good start to his ODI career, with three 50s and a highest score of 88. He is averaging mid 30s in the format. When he bats, he seems well focused and calm. I hope that he can translate this kind of start, or better, to the international red ball game. West Indies need somebody to put their hand up and stake a claim for the number three position. In Carty, they have somebody with a nice skill set and attitude...let's support the young man and keep our fingers crossed that he has the edges go his way and gets off to a good start if he debuts next week.

The stats you presented speak for themselves. It’s obvious that Velo’s utter dislike for Joseph prevents him from offering a truthful critique of the stats when compared to others. I wish for the day he becomes a true student of the game.

Holder is not the strike bowler, he is 2nd change bowler and is the current all-rounder in the team. old slow ass Kemar has out-bowled Joseph in your stats taking 47 wks @29 to 64 @34.

So second change bowlers, 9th change or whatever they are aren't expected to take wickets? Find a next excuse....

Don't know which stats you're looking at for Roach but Alzarri picking up wickets more frequently than him... but since you wanna go with the whole average thing let's do some checks

Past 3 years posted above... Roach got a slightly better average, less wickets and s/r.

Lets go to the past 2 years
Alzarri average 37 vs Roach 40
Wickets 40 vs 18
S/R 52 vs 65

Yeah ole boy Roach is definitely outperforming him...

Holder primarily task is an allrounder and is not a head-to-head competition with Joseph, Joseph has performed slightly better than 'old man' Roach.

Anthony. He needs some work. It's in his best interest. When you watch, do you feel that Alzarri can penetrate? Can put pressure on the opposition? Hope he is back soon with weapons.

Congrats Keacy. You should have been there in England. Congrats.
How about Hamilton and Walsh Jr. Are they out of mind? Our keeping has not been great so Hamilton should have gotten a look in.
Walsh Jr has added to his arsenal and should be in team ahead of Charles and Warrican.

I am not sold on Carty, but congratulations are in order.
I hope he makes it at that level.
Athanaze is very pleasing to the eye watching him bat, but he may very well go down the path of Mckenzie if he does not convert these 20's into meaningful half centuries.
It would be nice to get a ton against the Saffies.
These selectors are very impatient.
