Nicholas Pooran. Arguably the best bat in T20
WI vooped as SA pooped! Lickit cricket.
In reply to imusic
Not many can treat fast bowlers like Pooran does,it's like he's batting against 12 year olds.I hope our new boys have learnt something by just looking at Pooran.Best 20/20 batsman .

Pooran and Pant
If Pooran was representing India he would’ve been nurtured to play all formats.
We don’t value our talents enough.
As always…
In reply to imusic
Yes he is but let him come and play real cricket nah?
He picks up line and length we'll. A waste of time bowling a slower ball at home
Bat speed reminds me of Yuvraj Singh.
In reply to imusic
I think he passed Onry for most sixes today
In reply to Raskil
Pooran has no interest in the anachronistic game. And why should he? To appease pensioners?
In reply to voiceofreason
Both Shai Hope and NickyPoo should play red ball.
In reply to Chrissy
That’s kind of insane. Onry was a prolific six hitting MACHINE!
In reply to VIX
Beautiful word anachronistic, which makes the case for Pooran and Pant.
I can watch these guys play any format.
In reply to Raskil
True, but the board would also give him a 5 Millions per year central contract,
and a 2 millions per year IPL deal.
What ya have to sey now?
In reply to VIX
It may be anachronistic but does anyone actually remember any of Pooran's T20 Innings??? They're all kind of the same thing huh?
But the entire World remembers Shai's twin hundreds against England, Shamar's bowling against Australia, & countless Brian Lara innings etc!!!
WI cricket was built on Test Cricket we may have many GOATS of T20 cricket but even Chris Gayle values his 333 over his 175 just saying!!!
Nevertheless kudos to Nicky P he really is the best T20 batsman in the World will be interesting to see if he'll surpass Gayle one day!!!
In reply to TanteMerle
They could let him keep 100% of his league earnings.
That may help.

Those were the days my friend. Most of the great test cricketers are broke or died broke. Pooran will never be broke and will live a good life whether he is remembered or not.
Nicky Poo is the best T20 bat in the WEST INDIES
At this time , he is not the best in the world.
He needs to be more consistent at the international level .....I hope he remains at the #3 position in the WI team.... IN MY OPINION THIS IS THE FIRST TIME HE HAS A CLEAR DEFINED ROLE....and I expect him to get even better
In T 20Is...he is in fact ranked # 12 in ICH ranking.....below Brandon King and Johnson Charles
ICC ranking
In reply to Narper
Pooran paid his dues and had many a failure in the Poor-Ann years
Number of games, different conditions, all kinda professional and unprofessional environments- you know experience is the best teacher!
I opine that Pooran's problem is that #3 position.
Pooran likes to start fast and does not generally take time to get his eye in.
This attitude leads to inconsistency.
When Pooran realizes that he is the best and can take 2 overs to have a look,
He will be even more destructive,
I also notice that he bats quite well with Hope.
I like what I saw yesterday: That is.
Hope and Athanaze opening, left/right hand combo.
Pooran at 3 cause left hand got out.
Right hand at 3 if Hope was the one that got out (not sure that was the plan though)
After-all, Scammy is a cricketing fool. (real tactical novice).
With a team of lefties (Atty, Pooran & Ruthy)
With a team of right handers (Hope, Hetty, Powell, & Chase)
The team have the flexibility to play with batting order.
T20 is about flexibility, scheming and planning.
Scammy is a tactical idiot, just knowing to hit sixes.
I saw the bowling changes as being done by Powell on the field.
I also noticed that Hope appears to be involved with fielding consultations.
Did anyone else noticed Hope attitude with Forde after the 1st wicket?
The body language tells me that Hope had a talk with Forde who executed to a plan.
I said last CPL, that Hope was GAW de facto cappo.
In reply to TanteMerle
Agreed
But in my view, flexibility in the batting order should not apply to the top order....1-4 should be fixed....all the top teams have fixed top orders
Roles by batting positions must be defined...and batsmen given a long run to grow into the positions..I see Pooran gelling at #3 nicely....learning and getting better at this key position
In my books when all players are available the order should be Hope, King, Pooran, Athanaze [or other] followed by the others [flexible when required].
In reply to TanteMerle
Pooran bats like a baseballer so when he is good he is very good but the probability of him been good is not very high .. result inconsistence
In reply to Halliwell
Correct.
You best batsman at #3.delivering consistently will always give his team a greater chance of winning/
A big bonus if the openers are also consistent...but t 20 game requires taking risks especially in the powerplay to maximize the scoring...and one or both may perish early....
In reply to TanteMerle
Poor you. You still cannot bring yourself to give Jack his jacket! Mek it bun yah! Sammy will take this team to # 1 and a World cup championship!
In reply to imusic
Very destructive against 18 year old Maphaka, Baartman, Kruger and, Hamburger. he could use some of that might to help us in the World cup.
In reply to voiceofreason
Scammy is a joker.
Too bad that you cannot see that.
He will be the downfall of this team,
especially with selection responsibilities.
Why de hell is Charles in this squad.
Bet no one arguing.
Until I see Pooran with a bat in his hand walking to the middle in a test match for the windies then I’ll fully rate him until then he’s a entertainer the type I might watch or may not.
