had a lil more common sense how WI cricket would see him and POORAN un mekk every single opponent most times.

hard not to wonder- WHAT IF... HETY lived up to his potential as POORAN has...

"there but for a simple button....the pants dropped off his arse"

Not too late. Hetty still has time to put in the mental work. Skill is there.

We need to just move on. A talent lost and wasted. The IPL has made him into a cow lasher and that is now his instinct. He is also overweight and does not seem to care. Leave him alone and let him live his life. He has made alot of money and I hope for his sake it is being properly managed and invested. I wish him well but he has no place in CWI cricket.

The same IPL made Pooran a cow lasher too?

They play in the same era. They both started off batting in similar spots in the batting order for their respective IPL teams

In reply to bobby It's not too late. If he gets down to a fit & ready (CHG's phrase) disposition, then WI will know he's serious. That's all.

Bullshit! If WI don't think he is serious why they select him but keep benching him? Why bother to select him?

If he fails then drop him! All WI (Sammy) is currently doing is trying to punish Hetty. Don't be surprised if Hetty soon start making himself unavailable for WI cricket.

You are incorrect. Hetty is held back in the IPL until 7 & 8 when they need a cowlasher. Many games he did not even bat. He comes in with not even a ball to settle, just swing for the hills. Pooran is used higher up as a proper batsman in the IPL. But as I have said before, if the CWI use Hetty it can only be as an opener. The middle is set and if he is included then they will have to play a bowler short. He cannot, in the T20 set-up, play before Romario or Sherfane who can both bowl. The same applies to Chase who can both bat and bowl. Now we have Shemar, Motie and Forde who can all bat. Unless Hetty will open or bat 1,2, 3 or 4, he will not fit. Pooran and the Captain are already set at 3 & 4 or when King comes back, Hope will move to 4 and the Captain to 5 and we still have to fit in DreRus.

No surprise musicman is here lol

Some people got Hety down as such a big failure and yet the dude batting numbers in the IPL are identical to Pooran... who is now arguably the best T20 batsman in the world.

I'm even surprised that de dude got a better batting average than Pooran batting at #4... of course it's less matches most likely before Pointing turned him into a cow lasher.

Here are their numbers in the IPL by batting position..

Hety

Pooran

How do you define identical?

Pooran cut Hetty ass in every batting position except #6,
and even then the difference is 6 points and half of Hetty's innings were not outs.

These stats tells me that Hetty cannot tie Pooran's shoes.

That said, I believe that both can be useful to Windies.
I will not try to guess what's wrong,
but Windies need to find ways to utilize all of their stars.

Wrong, Pooran a class above, but Hetty is very good, potentially.

I guess the same way you define Pooran cutting Hety ass in every position...

I said it's identical because their overall average in the IPL are almost the same.

Based on the batting positions...

#4 Hety better average and Pooran slightly better S/R
#5 Pooran better average and S/R
#6 Hety better average and S/R

Ain't saying that he's better than Pooran but the dude is one of the better talents in the region and CWI is wasting it... he's always in and out the team or up and down the order. Never at a settled position. In the last 3 yrs he played only 14 or 15 matches and scored 3 50+ scores. That's on par with some of the guys who are regulars in the playing XI.

I see that yall , based on the posts...are in the same spot as me.

Well Bobby is ready to move on.

but this thing sticks in my craw - no matter how ticked off Hety gets me... I still remember his attitude at debut and his ability to hit any shot ....

I wish I could forget...so we keep talking about POTENTIAL...

Pooran I always had confidence in being fantastic...and yes..I wanted to see Pooran in ODIs too...

Hety...I actually had some serious delusions that he could be among the greats...in any format...I saw him...yes...I will admit...I saw him scoring double hundreds in tests...and consistent tons in ODIs and T20's...

NOW..yall know why I does fail and occasionally cuss Hety....

and everytime the adopted son Pooran does well...I remember - like a pavlov response- Hety...and I frown.

I am Powen001

this is my confession...

Lord..help me to be like Bobby and move on.
