wuhloss.
I loved Marlon the Cricketer...real talk
but Marlon...when I met him...came over as Arrogant and unwilling to work in the team environment.
That video...really aint nothing but a propaganda piece ...I thought Marlon and his immense talent had long left the formal set up?
Whats this all about now in 2024?

Agreed. Arrogant, totally indisciplined and not too bright. And all of this is now being painted as standing up for his rights. He was just a rebel. He should have played a sport where he could be a one man band.

A wonderful talent who never did his talent any Justice. Quite a few folks who know him are not very complementary about his character.

nobody in jamaica cricket liked marlon for that exact reason. the problem with people like marlon and hooper was that they didn't work hard enough. they thought cricket was an exam you could cram for....it is not. When lara didn't score a hundred for 16 months between the end of 1997 and march of 1999, he locked himself in his mansion and watched tapes of his dismissals, sorted out his weaknesses. the result was 500+ runs at over 90 against the best team in the world. marlon and hooper never had that discipline

I ll confess too that I was disappointed...but said nothing as we were all about supporting the team.
I told myself that he can really win matches for us ...so I said...no harm done...but lawdy...He was all about himself and this is when he was still quite young
im not impressed by the propaganda nonsense...we were all here

Marlon has his place in history
Sammy milks it
Cameron milks it
Gayle milks it
Bravo milks it
Badree milks it
RTN capitalized on it
For all the proxy regret expressed on this MB, Marlon clearly doesn’t give a damn and has no regrets

Absolutely......
To me.....he did play his part to become part of West Indies cup winning history......never got his due.....never got any support from CWI... during knee injury or banned......that made him individualistic.....but always stood up for West Indies cricket.....
During 2019 qualifiers.....most of the players refused to play for West Indies....Marlon played and helped to qualify.....but ultimately, not selected for World Cup 2019 in England.....
..he played important roles in both world cup victories....
Everyone milks it....Marlon got castigated and banished... his last selfless act to get West Indies qualify for 2019 World Cup.....
People say he should have played individual and not team sport.....
Fallacy at it's best.....

For everything he’s criticised for, he ended up with decent numbers. The man could bat, his bowling could be good at times and is in a different league compared to some of the guys donning West Indian colours these days

Much better than the 20 something’s who are representing us now.
His ODI numbers are really good, almost a batting all rounder type stats there.
Played some very good innings in both formats for us.
He’s better than literally anyone on the team right now
