Good News, I read that Guyana will have a labor worker shortage, if they do not have it already. In order to do all the development they want to do they need technical workers.

Just sharing good news of cooperation. ($161 million US contract)

What would make you respond like that?

"Guyanese President Irfaan Ali told the ceremony that construction would last two years"

I remember when I went to UWI in the 90s, they were rebuilding the Sir Solomon Hochoy/Uriah Butler highway that runs from North (Valsayn) to South (San Fernando) at the time (now it has been extended further south).

It took more than 2 years to repair that thing and then they had to redo it because it was mashing up. The big contractor was Junior Sammy and that was a poor job. Don't think Junior Sammy ever did a good job but kept getting big contracts from the Ministry of Works & Transportation. One of the faux pas is that they paint the road and then pave over the painting - who does that?

Trinidad has the poorest road conditions in the Caribbean.

What a load of nonsense, T&T has some world class road and civil contractors with world class equipment by de grap !! Congrats Namalco !! Congrats Niam ! wink

bravos 2024-08-30 02:32:18

A little glimpse of Namalco. Not even MACORP/CAT in Guyana have equipment stock like that..and there are even a few larger than Namalco.. T&T contractors have been successfully building world class roads since the 60's.

Pays well, like I said before with that dutty contract allyuh sign T&T and others may benefit more than Guyana in the long run..that Namalco contract is just the tip of the iceberg of what T&T has already raked in even since before one barrel pump..cool

Not to mention total control of the local banking and goods sector etc to rass from foods to building materials to chemicals etc..

Keep it pumping bro.

No bro we wish Guyana all the best, the gravy train is looooooooog choooooo $$$hoooooooooo !! Seriously T&T making billions (not GD$ ) from Guyana's success, we not like that bro we look at the bigger picture, bigger opportunities, hence no 'Trinidad Airways' ever ! And even Yardies think Kiss cake and rough top is dem own !! And we embrace that ! Just like how exxon paint up all dem big ting in de national colors and hand allyuh dat priceless national pride !! (smile .

BIg moves bro...

bravos 2024-08-30 17:30:53

In reply to DirtyDan

And we love it !! T&T has been literally making billions from this..from exploration to production to associated services and other trickle down business from the activities alone, ..bro we are totally embedded, wishing Guyana nothing but the best tantamount to shooting one's self in the foot !

The only competition here is who would really benefit the most in the end, if the leadership smart Guyana will if not everyone else will ! But whatever the outcome nothing can stop T&T from taking it's pound(s) of flesh , only earlly failure in Guyana can .... cool
