lord knows we'd have done better than the clapper man

WI should have fielded TKR for the world cup
In reply to Jumpstart
We already tried an old man team so nah try again!!!
You guys really can't differentiate International cricket from Club/Bookie Cricket huh???
In reply to Jumpstart
LOL. The actual evidence tells a different story but enjoy your fantasy world. At least we made it to the knockout round and lost a close contest this last worldcup. Trending in the right direction I say...compared to the outing (big field excuse and all) before this year's worldcup.
In reply to Jumpstart
Why are you riling up the natives?..
In reply to sgtdjones
I thought dem in the Reseveration still.
Rile up THIS ..and compare it to two worldcup trophies and at least getting out of the first round in 2024. Not to mention record breaking performances against England in ODIs at home + 3-0 win vs RSA + plus rise in rankings.
Facts are stubborn things. Y'all disrespect for Sammy is based on nothing but insularity, an unfounded superiority complex and general nonsense.
In reply to Cheeks
Come on bro……you better than this.
Yes we made it out of the first round…..by beating Papua New Guinea, Uganda, and New Zealand?
New Zealand is a good team for sure so kudos to that. But the others? We also beat Afghanistan after both teams had already qualified.
When it came to crunch…we lost
I guess beating PNG and Uganda is better than losing to Scotland and Ireland in World Cup qualifying.
You can make your point without descending into homerism.
And for the record….i don endorse Jumpy’s lead post which I’m certain was made just to rile up peeps like yourself. And like a bee to honey……you took the bait hook, line, and sinker.
As I said…..you way better than that man

More excuse making. Steups. Conveniently leaving out two whole championship trophies. You can make whatever excuse you want for the nonsense. I support Windies cricket ..and I supported Polly's team that didn't make it to the knockout too...but that team flopped mightily.
Everytime time a Sammy led team wins y'all come with the excuses; RSA B team, we only beat PNG, Uganda and New Zealand (interesting sleight of hand of hand with New Zealand there), we only beat AFG after both teams qualified..blah blah blah. You operating from the SAME playbook as Jumpy.
Every team not named India lost when it came to the crunch. Btw.
Jumpy has been obsessing with the nonsense forever and you never called him out but have time to address me? If you don't condone Jumpy's post..then why not say so? Why you coming at me? YOU should be better.
Some of y'all just need to admit that you prefer Windies to lose once your homies are not in charge. I will respect that more.

It seems as if they cannot

Look trouble now
In reply to Cheeks
You triggered by the name Sammy.
Do yuh thing bro
In reply to Jumpstart
One win and your jumpy Skunt bawling about field TTKR. Man go siddung with your chupidness you think Pelter Narine will play and he is your Trump Card!
WI faltered in the Wc because of Sammy's reliance on his countrymen from the Windward Islands.
Obed McCoy should have been replaced by Kyle Mayers who could bowl the same two or three overs as McCoy was the SIXTH BOWLER, THE top Five being Joseph Russell, Motie Hosein and Chase.
Charles should have been then dropped, Mayers inserted in his place giving room for the extra batter in Hetmyer in the middle order
Hope
Mayers
Pooran
Hetmyer
Powell
Rutherford
Russell
Chase
Motie
Hosein
Joseph
...........this should have been the team!
In reply to analyst-kidCoulda
JC has his best stats vs RSA. Dropping him for Mayers t play his first game in a do or die situation was the biggest mistake!
In reply to voiceofreason
Mayers provides a bowling option and batting wise Mayers+ Heymyer > Johnson Charles + McCoy

i want to see the clapper win those trophies without the best t20 players in the world
In reply to Cheeks
second string teams homes.

Do yuh thing bro
You seem triggered by the fact that we didn't win crap without Sammy. I deal with evidence, not a bunch of theories steeped in insularity.
In reply to Cheeks
Smiling and nodding in approval

If you would pay attention you would understand why that group of guys needed insightful leadership and not frenism.. to be successful as a unit. That is why you living in this constant state of being confounded by the success..and wondering why Polly could not replicate it. .1, 2, 3..here come the excuses ...bigger grounds, Covid..you already done trot out 2nd string teams etc etc.
In reply to voiceofreason
Pun intended!
In reply to analyst-kid
McCoy is one lucky bowler. Give me lucky.
In reply to Cheeks
by that measure, sammy needed Darren Ganga's trinidad red force template because he has no tactical acumen of his own(a script he was still using in 2024)
In reply to Cheeks
high class rubbish. we didn't have the players necessary to win a t20 world cup in the previous 3 editions. there was no sunil narine, no andre russell, no marlon samuels, no samuel badree
In reply to Jumpstart
Look at the squads again and pay attention to who didn't play in the 2016 winning run ..and who was still there in in 2021. Think also about how we had a fairly 'unlikely' hero in the final in 2016. The evidence is slapping you in the face..but your bias will not allow you to see..you will forever be stuck making excuse after excuse.
In reply to Cheeks
Who was this unlikely hero in the 2016 final?
In reply to Cheeks
They were old in 2021. it happens. usain bolt, virtually unbeatable in 100m and 200m since 2008 came 3rd to Justin Gatlin and christian coleman in 2017

Now you advocating for the same ol man skippah (by your own admission) to have played in this worldcup too? You wanted us to lose against PNG, NZL, AFG etc etc?
You realize that all you do is make excuses ..and justify stuff to suit your biases right?
At some point you will come to terms with everything in front of you.
In reply to Cheeks
were they not older...much older. gayle was 42, bravo was 37, spiceman was 33,dre rus was 33, pollard was 34, rampaul was 37, simmons was 36. t20 wc
In reply to Jumpstart
Of course they were older. I have not done a comparison of the ages of the other teams in the competition. But run your route bossman. The grounds were bigger too.

hoss you is such a fraud....yuh wasn't just arguing that i was making excuses(age of the players) in spite of the facts of julius garvey sammy's supposedly competent leadership? yuh change yuh whole paragraph/diatribe after i posted the age of the side
In reply to Cheeks
Facts
In reply to Jumpstart
That is patently absurd. I not even sure what you trying to say here. Your lead post is about the current TKR being able to do better than Windies with the 'Clapper' in 2024. I am merely point out that you defeat your own argument when you claim that the 2021 team lost because they were old..but here you are advocating for ol men again. I must be missing something.
In reply to Cheeks
The clapper had a great team. Has darren sammy won anything outside of those two world cups? Before the cpl, his biggest claim to fame as skipper was Windwards beating the Red Force, a very distracted red force i might add, in the 2012 CT20. TT went on to win that tournament while WI went out in the semis. Sammy wasn't even there when windwards won the super 50 in 2013. And zouks/kings/queens has been the least competitive franchise in the 11 year history of the cpl. and sammy was cappo for the majority of that time
In reply to Jumpstart
Dude great men are remembered for their achievements, not what they haven't done ....
In reply to Kay
I agree. And that is why Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Badree, Narine, especially Marlon Samuels and even Pollard(who only had one good game in the 2012 edition) will be remembered more than Sammy for that triumph. It’s like with Maradona. Who remembers who was Argentina’s coach in the 1986 World Cup. Other than Pasarella, who was a teammate of Socrates at Fiorentina, most people don’t even remember Maradona’s supporting players
In reply to Scapegoater

Big ground, old, ..we didn't have the players, suddenly so because Polly failed to inspire them to get out of the group stage..and well they were old according to you.
Now distracted because a Sammy led team beat TKR. The excuses keep getting more creative.
I hereby rename you Scapegoater. .
Yuh good bad.
In reply to Cheeks
That was Trinidad red force homes not TKR. And the two bravos rectified that with a beat down in st Lucia the next year
In reply to Jumpstart
Ok Scapegoater.
Take win yes. Enjoy de club cricket....but at the same time...sit back and enjoy the Windies show with Coach Sammy.
Bump...
Did the WC team win last night?
