If you would pay attention you would understand why that group of guys needed insightful leadership and not frenism.. to be successful as a unit. That is why you living in this constant state of being confounded by the success..and wondering why Polly could not replicate it. .1, 2, 3..here come the excuses ...bigger grounds, Covid..you already done trot out 2nd string teams etc etc.

high class rubbish. we didn't have the players necessary to win a t20 world cup in the previous 3 editions. there was no sunil narine, no andre russell, no marlon samuels, no samuel badree

Look at the squads again and pay attention to who didn't play in the 2016 winning run ..and who was still there in in 2021. Think also about how we had a fairly 'unlikely' hero in the final in 2016. The evidence is slapping you in the face..but your bias will not allow you to see..you will forever be stuck making excuse after excuse.

They were old in 2021. it happens. usain bolt, virtually unbeatable in 100m and 200m since 2008 came 3rd to Justin Gatlin and christian coleman in 2017

Sextillion was MoM but Remember The Name was the late game hero in the final. He was not the globetrotting club cricket superstar like his more famous teammates at that time.

Now you advocating for the same ol man skippah (by your own admission) to have played in this worldcup too? You wanted us to lose against PNG, NZL, AFG etc etc?

You realize that all you do is make excuses ..and justify stuff to suit your biases right?

At some point you will come to terms with everything in front of you.

Of course they were older. I have not done a comparison of the ages of the other teams in the competition. But run your route bossman. The grounds were bigger too. big grinbig grin

That is patently absurd. I not even sure what you trying to say here. Your lead post is about the current TKR being able to do better than Windies with the 'Clapper' in 2024. I am merely point out that you defeat your own argument when you claim that the 2021 team lost because they were old..but here you are advocating for ol men again. I must be missing something.

The clapper had a great team. Has darren sammy won anything outside of those two world cups? Before the cpl, his biggest claim to fame as skipper was Windwards beating the Red Force, a very distracted red force i might add, in the 2012 CT20. TT went on to win that tournament while WI went out in the semis. Sammy wasn't even there when windwards won the super 50 in 2013. And zouks/kings/queens has been the least competitive franchise in the 11 year history of the cpl. and sammy was cappo for the majority of that time

Dude great men are remembered for their achievements, not what they haven't done ....

I agree. And that is why Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Badree, Narine, especially Marlon Samuels and even Pollard(who only had one good game in the 2012 edition) will be remembered more than Sammy for that triumph. It’s like with Maradona. Who remembers who was Argentina’s coach in the 1986 World Cup. Other than Pasarella, who was a teammate of Socrates at Fiorentina, most people don’t even remember Maradona’s supporting players

Big ground, old, ..we didn't have the players, suddenly so because Polly failed to inspire them to get out of the group stage..and well they were old according to you.

Now distracted because a Sammy led team beat TKR. The excuses keep getting more creative.

I hereby rename you Scapegoater. .

Yuh good bad.

That was Trinidad red force homes not TKR. And the two bravos rectified that with a beat down in st Lucia the next year
